So you're gonna compare their running backs instead of the two qbs? One qb is averaging more ypc, more yards per pass, better qb percentage, fewer interceptions, and one less touchdown.
Also, Malena is averaging 6.2 yards per carry compared to Barners 6.6. Manziel is doing a lot because of his offensive line, Mariota is doing a lot because of his running backs. Seems like a moot point, I just think TAMUs line is the most underrated, probably the best, unit in college football bar none.
I have a hard time believing Oregon's line is not that good when 3 players from the backfield have such impressive stats.
If Texas A&M's line is so good, shouldn't his running back be better than 78th in rushing yards?
I know this is between Manziel and Mariota...but I don't give a shit..posting anyway..

I wonder why they didn't have that checklist against Mariota???
OH yeah. And they forgot the losses column.
meow!!!
Don't be obtuse, it's a strength of competition argument that's being made there
The strength of competition argument only makes sense if you do well against good teams. You don't get points just for getting your ass kicked by good defenses.
You have to believe in the rankings. I don't believe the 4-9 teams in the country are all SEC teams. Inflated rankings get them there and keep them there.
