It's a decent schedule but not the hardest. I am fine with who they play as an independent, honestly. Let's see how their 5 ACC games are set up. BC and Pitt are obvious but if they decide to play the othe private schools only, their schedule just got a lot easier.

Not really, but OK.

If you were to give Notre Dame odds to win each individual game this year and multiply out their chance of going undefeated, i'll bet it is about 1/10 as likely as it would be with a pure ACC schedule.

Really? Whose is harder? They play six ranked teams in twelve games, ten major conference teams, and 8 teams coming off of bowl games, with an opposing win percentage that it #4 in the country. No one is even close, really, this year.

Maybe this year, but as a whole they usually play a solid schedule but not on the level of most SEC teams year in and year out. This is not a bash on ND as USC, Mich and Mich St. Are legit annual games but Pitt, Navy, AFA, BC are pretty bad most years.

Sure, but they play the Academies every year and some scrub B1G teams like Purdue and then BC. They're schedule isn't that bad year in and year out, yet they can't even hit 8 wins

And seriously Smart, is it possible for you to get involved in a thread without going off on some sort of besides the point diatribe that has little nothing to do with the original scope of the tread?

I have no problem w/ ND joining as a partial member and only playing 5 games a year. What really chaps my ass is the fact that they get to have access to our bowl tie-ins.

I respond to a post by the OP directly in a manner completely applicable to his post and yet you insist this has nothing to do with the scope of the thread....

You can't make this stuff up.

Yeah, it's too bad they can't play that amazing schedule of Virginia Tech and the ZERO RANKED TEAMS they play. The hypocrisy from you is incredible.

And Notre Dame has hit eight wins both years under their current head coach and will almost certainly do it again this year. The idea that Brian Kelly's ND stack their schedules to make them easy is actually the stupidest thing I have ever seen inferred on this board.

lol...its cute when people question Virginia Tech's scheduling, keep it up, always good for a laugh and shows when people dont have a clue what the fuck they're talking about

I'll give VT credit. They often go out and schedule one really tough game OOC, which is better than most teams. That is still only 25% of their OOC games. Notre Dame routinely schedules that, and in the case of this year, they did double that.

You bolded 'wuss move' and immediately went to scheduling for the current year, not looking at their past history with scheduling or ACC scheduling, specifically. I would call it more of a wuss move because of the revenue sharing even more, or the fact that it looks like ND will be privy to the ACC bowl tie-ins without even being part of the conference in football.

Most years ND's schedule is mediocre, I think Smart and 462 cleared this up already, so I'll just jump right to my point.

Like Purdue? Michigan at least has a strong offense. And last time I checked Michigan State still wasn't a scrub. The last 5 years have been out of the ordinary for Michigan.
