We live in a very forgiving society. Kobe Bryant is as popular as ever. Michael Vick's popularity has improved. Even Tiger Woods isn't as hated as he was.

Athletes can get away with just about anything because for the most part fans only care if their team wins.

In no other occupation will you get hated on for going to a better employer for a better lifestyle, money, and to improve your professional skill. That's basically what Lebron did.

His press conference did not warrant the extreme reaction it garnered. He chose Miami publicly......so what? It makes very little sense.

Lebron gives a ton to charity, has never been in trouble with the law, has never brought shame to his community, all he's wanted to do was WIN. He's done so. He doesn't cheat the game, or the system in place. He hasn't cried and run teammates out of town, run off coaches, thrown other players under the bus.

It's just completely irrational.
