Andy Towers had the gw-rbi in LA, right?

Yes, and it was a nice piece of hitting, too. Went oppo off the low outside corner. But he's only hitting .215.

NL record for consecutive shutouts is 6, by the 1903 Pittsburgh Pirates.

Shutting out the Reds is like shutting out the dodgers three times.

Very well put. Man didn't it just seem after the first inning that Bum was just going to kick Cinci in the nuts all night? I wonder if that's why the GDT was shorter, just a no doubt win it felt like.

The way this team is playing right now, they look better than Sep/Oct 2010. Yeah I said it.

Probably. I was just catching an inning here and there myself. My plum tree is putting out hundreds of plums this year - so I was focused on making plum jam most of the evening.

As epic as the boys are right now, sep/oct '10 was some if t best (and, let's be honest, luckiest) baseball I ever saw. Add the stage, and this does not compete.

This is pretty f'ing epic, though.

Just a little pressure on Matty tomorrow?

Just saw the one hit on replay. Nice slider well down in the zone, maybe even below the zone. Kind of a lucky hit.

I wonder how timmy-2.0 looked tonight? His stat line doesn't look too impressive.

If the dodgers dfa Uribe, do we pick him up? Is there anything left there?

Not a bad idea, but I wouldn't. We have some really good chemistry right now, and I just think he is well past his prime. I don't see that he would add much.

You're probably right, even though he was supposed to be a great clubhouse guy.

From Elias: The Giants are the first team in MLB history to shut out 4 straight opponents, all of whom entered the day in first place.

You just know team ace Matty Cain is dying to make it 5. I hope that doesn't make him a little too amped up (shaky first inning?).

We've been getting lucky on our opponents injuries during this streak. Kemp-less Dodgers, Phillips-less Reds...
