I'd prefer to keep Tallinder given the choice, but certainly someone on D would need to go for the Devils (preferably Zidlicky or Greene).
They sure hit the nail on the head with the Sabres choice.
/Now that i have looked at the link i am shocked TB has Lecavalier for 8 more years at 7.7M. WTF?

James Mirtle @mirtle
Was told that six teams would receive huge chunk of rev share under NHLPA system: Phoenix, NY Isles, Columbus, Florida, Nashville, Carolina

don't make me point out that Yashin is still on the books for two more years.

This pisses me off to no end. A team who knowingly can't afford to match an offer sheet does, then expects the team who offer sheeted the guy to help them foot the bill. FUCK revenue sharing, just fold the sinking teams already or move them to real hockey markets.
If I was Snider(Jacobs or any other rich owner) I'd say I'm not sharing my revenue, the interesting thing is the Snider can basically kill televised hockey at this point.
While Phoenix may have no business being in the NHL, Nashville's fanbase is pretty decent. But we see what happens when there's no revenue sharing in MLB, where even good markets, because they're not as big as New York, Boston, Los Angeles, etc., cannot make plays in free agency. There are plenty of baseball fans there, and attendance is fine, but there are simply fewer people and fewer dollars to be had.
When it comes down to it, revenue sharing is necessary to have a strong league, and the need for revenue sharing and the use of revenue sharing overall lead to lower player salaries, which allows for less turnover and more "fan favorites" to be retained overall. Snider may share his profits, but I would argue that by sharing them, he generates more from greater leaguewide interest (which leads to league television and merchandise revenues which are shared with all teams).
