Bad AB for Nap. You can't take that last pitch with 2 strikes in the bottom of the 9th. Having said that, evey one of the 7 pitches in that last AB were in the same place and 3 were called balls and 3 were called strikes. Ump needs to be better at his job than that. The reality is all of them were strikes, but if the first 2 had been called strikes Nap would have been swinging on that last pitch. as it was, he had to guess what the inconsistent ump was going to call. he guessed wrong.

There were a lot of bad AB's that got us to the 9th inning. Guys swinging at stuff that was never close to the strike zone. Slow curves then a fastball out of the strike zone that they wouldn't lay off. It happens sometimes with junk ball pitchers and free swingers.

The Royals are actually a decent road team and have won 5 of their last 6 overall. They will be a central division contender next season if everybody returns healthy. Still, I think we get 'em tonight.
