It's $315M for ten years and he gets $31.5 per.

He's a horrible defensive 3B. He had 13 errors in 2024. He doesn't run out hits and has been thrown out easily by 4-5 steps when he could have beaten the throw. With both Bregman and Casas hurt he wouldn't play 3B or 1B. Oh yeah, he was 0-21 at the start of this season.

Maybe he'll have a better attitude on the left coast. The guy can hit the ball a ton and when he gets hot, he'll hit multiple HRs in a game and do it two or three in a row.

Boston needs arms desperately. Although they just swept the Yankees and have 5-1 record against them in 2025.
He's deferred a lot of the money, the AAV on that contract is $29M/yr. A lot of money sure, but not going to break the bank.

He's a DH. Wilmer will play some 1b.

I thought his beef with Boston was they moved him to DH. Think he agreed to DH for us or will we see him at 2nd or 1st?

It's been said his fielding is a negative. I Don't know for sure what the problem really is and if he can field enough to not hurt the teams defense.

Maybe at 1b occasionally. But, Chappy won't miss many games at 3b so I don't see him getting time there.

I was just thinking:

How many All Stars this year for the Giants?

Webb
Ray
Ramos
Chappy
Devers
RanRod

All will be in consideration

You know it will just be one it's the Giants and as far as the Networks we could be based in Siberia for all they are concerned there are only New York Teams and LA Doggies, some Cubbies and Red Socks with not much else to talk about when it comes to MLB all others are temporary side stories.

They've gotta be thinking 2b, right?
That could be interesting. Probably not this year, but maybe next?

I have seen reports that Devers’ objection to 1B was more about making the move mid-season with no prep time.

Yeah, he wouldn't be the first Red Sock to get pissed at mgt.

I doubt he plays 2b, but who knows. I don't think he has the range.

Harris has the hype of a top-of-the-rotation arm, but he hasn’t shown that in the majors YET. But dude is only 23. And he is a lefty. He is a HUGE get for you. He was expendable for us because we have a shit-ton of SP prospects/kids. We have Roupp and Birdsong currently in the rotation with a stud trying to kick down the door (Whizenhunt) and about 4 other guys who look to potentially be #3s or better in the bigs.

Jordan Hicks is awful. I'd rather try any of the AAA arms over him.

Heist of a trade for SF.
Hicks needs to abandon this idea of his that he is a starter. He can be a stud bully arm again, if he just accepts the roll.

Quick, and COMPLETELY not accurate math says that if a player gets at least 2 WAR in a season, that season is worth about 9M/WAR. So if he is able to put together a few 4WAR seasons, that will put a huge dent in the value of the overall contract.

My understanding was that he didn’t want to move to 1B in the middle of the season. If we work with him on 1B or 2B during the off-season, MAYBE he will be willing?????
