Why is there talk of Devers playing 2nd base? That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. It seems his only spot on the field should be 1st base and more likely should just stick with DH.

2B is a relatively “easy” position to play. TZ first mentioned it, and I assumed he mentioned it for a reason, so I lock on it.

Though, looking at him, he doesn’t LOOK like a 2B, so you are probably right.

I don't see Flores on the team in 2026. He will be a free agent this year and seems redundant with Devers around.

I suspect he hangs it up after this year. He activated his 3M player option for ‘25 (likely expecting to be DFA’d). That is not the act of a person who envisions he has a long career in front of him.

Wasn’t Flores our RBI leader a few days ago? He could be our back up DH/1st Baseman. Hopefully he can contribute through this year.

On another note, ex-Giant Lamonte Wade Jr. is 0-7 with 5 k’s with the Angels, me think his time is almost up.

He is top 10 in MLB in RBI. But RBI is not a skill stat. It is an opportunistic stat. It is flashy, and shows actual production, but it is not indicative in any way of future production. Great for the annual review, not so great for the job interview.

The Giants historically know how to develop pitchers while the BoSox know how to develop hitters. If the Giants have “given up” on Harrison, you are likely correct. Most of the young arms the Giants have “given up” on in the past have not developed. There are really only 2 big exceptions (Wheeler and Castillo).

Sure, but the vast majority of his HRs aren't cheapies. Don't be surprised if we get our first 30 HR guy in a while.

Yeah, that was after a quick look at his BR page...he's played there but I'm not sure how much. He certainly doesn't look like he'd have the range.

Certainly would. Sounds like a future reliever with one pitch. You would think the lack of brilliance at the big league level would open his eyes to the need of another pitch.

Will play 3rd probably while Chapman is hurt, then DH mostly. For next year I think they'll want him to play 1B and DH some, can back up 3rd in a pinch. We know he's not a great glove.

Sprained his hand diving back into first base. Progressing well by all accounts and should be back sooner than later.
