On Sat night I watched that game from the 3rd inning on and he was inserted into the game after Julio Rodriguez hurt his leg from a ground ball running to 3rd base.
Tavares went back near the wall to catch a ball and jumped up to make the catch more difficult than it really was. He should have made the catch. It allowed a run plus he came up twice with runners RISP and flew out and grounded out.
Not surprised he is gone.
