Confession time... I just dislike the Braves. Only 2 teams (other than the Dodgers obviously) that I really dislike

Cardinals (best uniforms in the majors IMO).... stems from the Will Clark / Ozzie Smith era (where it seemed we were getting cheap shotted routinely)

and the Braves

Old enough to love the Milwaukee Braves, but for some reason really dislike the Atl Braves. Maybe the city, fanbase, the Glavin/Maddux/Smoltz era.... I don't know. Just dislike the Atl Braves

Respect both, but really don't like 'em

New guys mojo tonight.... can't keep accumulating anymore in the loss column

Also, i did a lot of work in Atl, went to many Braves games when they were in the heart of the city. Fans were minimal unless it was a 'big' game. Braves answer... move to the suburbs.... hell, they are closer to Marietta than Atlanta. Just rubs me wrong

The Braves have moved a couple of times...further and further into the suburbs to appeal to the ah, demographic.

Yeah, they are way out of town. On my sabbatical a few summers ago, I flew into Atlanta and stayed by the airport (I had an early morning flight). Being frugal, er, cheap, I took the light rail to the stadium. It was a long way, took over an hour. The game was a snoozer, as the Braves were up like 10-0 in the fourth inning. I toured the stadium (some cool displays including the bats for Aaron), and decided to head back. But by that point the light rail was running every hour, and I wouldn't get back until midnight. So, reluctantly called an Uber. Got back to the hotel in 25 minutes, and the driver had lived in Pasadena so we talked about places we knew there. I guess the Braves' plan was to buy a bunch of land, build a stadium, and then lease out the surrounding land to develop into a sports/entertainment hub (think Staples Center or the build up around 3rd and King). Seems to be working, but it is a long way from anywhere unless you live north of the city.

fwiw.. Friday evenings are sail boat race days. Usually there is a course set just off the South Beach marina (immediately north of McCovey Cove). Perfect winds, no tankers/cargo ships in the lane, gorgeous night .... just a win away from perfect

Man these 5 starters are all really good...and the pen too. We may be seeing one of, if not the best staffs since the title years, and no old guys.

Now I think offense in general is down all over the league, lots of pitchers are putting up numbers and fewer hitters are (as we well know LOL)
