It isn’t the minutes as much as it is the extreme usage.

Mitchell and Allen had to do so much. Especially Mitchell.
The play style Mitchell played in that game...it wasn't a normal 36 minutes. He was constantly going to the hoop and getting knocked to the floor. I feel like a guy like Brunson and his play style he is used to it. He had play this way bc the Cavs were not shooting well from outside again...the Cavs are at their best penetrating and kicking it out to shooters and Garland is a HUGE part of that. I think part of Indiana's strategy is to beat up Mitchell and basically tell him to beat them by himself.

Not like it matters I expect Mobley and Garland are done for the series.

This literally contradicts what Windhorst said the other day. Is it so difficult to get a real update. Windhorst basically said it looks like Garland is done for the series and Mobley could be out for extended time. Very strange

That is extremely difficult to do when you have allocated minutes all year and Kenny has done a good job of that. But guys have to step up but that is tough bc it comes to a point where the talent is more tilted over a long series. One game is one game like in the regular season. The Cavs outplayed Indiana most of that G2 but got outplayed for basically the last couple minutes and lost. I would say Mitchell did just about everything he could and was physically drained.

I think Kenny went away from his strategy to play the guys that are playing well and sit the guys that are having an off night. Maybe he panicked bc he believed in Jerome all season and guys were injured but it is still not like him. If the Cavs don't throw the inbound pass away and the refs call a violation on the missed FT...this is a totally different story but unfortunately they have to climb out of this big hole. They still aren't playing close to their best...missing a lot of open shots and freebies imo. The defense was a lot better last game I will admit.
I don't really disagree with any of this and as I said can appreciate that fans are not as quick to just be lazy and blame the coach for anything that goes wrong as they have done in the past.

Read a Pluto column recently and seems like this can work....something Wilkins used to do on those OOB plays. Threw it up to a big guy (often nance) and have him get it back to the inbounder. Even if we do this with Allen he has been pretty good with his FTs.

DG would really be someone to help on these, too, as he's fast/quick....well, if healthy.

Have agreed Mitchell definitely had to do more in this one....but 36 minutes is not much for a star in a big playoff game.....hopefully he can hit some shots outside the paint and not need to wear himself out going to hoop as much. That said credit to him for doing it as they cannot stop him inside.

No reason for the team to give Indiana a clue if they are playing or not. If fans want to rip the players they don't like for not playing when they cannot go so be it. Team cannot care about that.

spread didn't matter much last time (as far as to gauge who might play) but FWIW gone from opening of -1.5 to now -5.5

Not sure what the injuries are for each...but if playing is unlikely to result in further damage...it becomes a matter of pain tolerance/management.

Just put $50 on nuggets and Cavs ML
I'm still going Indiana on the ML. Not enough to make me less annoyed if we lose but at least get something out of it. Will do what I did last game, too......get a big lead I'll make another ML bet with better odds and will keep doing it. If I lose a few bucks so be it.

Lost it all doing this in Miami series, of course.....I was OK with it.

Interesting.

If he does play, will be watching close to see how effective he is.

Might be a Porzingas type situation where he is out there, but not close to his normal level of production.
