Diggs, Bland and Revel next year, no need for a $13M 4th. Now, if he has a big year, they can always bring him back and trade Diggs...
It doesnt make buisness sense to aquire something your going to dump

is there a reason To do something like this on purpose

I think it's possible he has a good season. It's very possible Diggs does not. Jerry even spoke the other day of how disappointed they were in his previous rehab effort. He better come back strong this time

I think the most important thing is that declining to pay a backup a $13M option doesn't necessarily mean they are dumping him. He will be a free agent and they can extend/re-sign him just like any other free agent. CB was a desperate need. I thought it was a great trade for them. They didn't give up very much and at the time they didn't have Revel. Diggs and Butler are hurt and they had just lost Lewis so they really just had Bland. The other starter was I guess Carson? Nickel Back depth chart was Mukuamu (if even plays CB) or Kemon Hall? So at the time of the trade he was a week one starter and still might be depending on injuries - I consider 3 CBs really as starters. His cap hit is only $2.6M and we didn't give up all that much in the trade either:

the Cowboys sent a 2026 seventh-round selection to the Bills in addition to a 2025 fifth-rounder. Meanwhile, Dallas acquired Elam and the Bills' 2025 sixth-round pick

The draft is a crap shoot and Revel only played one year of Division I at a smaller School and is coming off a major injury, so we don't know for sure if he will be a starter. But, assuming he will be, does the team want to pay both Diggs and Bland? If not we still need CBs. I really liked this Butler kid in the limited action he saw, but he is still an unknown. Maybe Elam battles him for the 3/4 spots and is resigned.

Revel is a hard working kid. I predict when he is back to 100% he will be the best corner on the team, Diggs and Bland included

hell it was our team doctor that did his surgery. Pretty sure the Cowboys would know his health.

I have no doubt he gets back to 100%. By all accounts, he is like Overshown, will do anything to get back on the field. If it's me, I take it slow with both kids. They are great talents. I think we all hope the Cowboys have a winning season, but it's also fair to say it will be tough for us to overtake Philly or Detroits roster this season. That's why I'm not worried that we didn't reach to draft a WR or RB1 or NT. The draft didn't fall that way. But we got a couple of kids that will start and a couple that will rotate. That's a Hell of a draft.
We still need a WR(or 2) and a bell cow back. I think Guyton and Mazi have this year to play up to their draft status. I have high hopes that with the new OC and OL coach and scheme that Guyton will take a jump. If they do, cross two more gaping holes off, if not, then we have 4 things to address next offseason. Get Schottys scheme locked in this season, see if you can move forward with Mazi and Guyton, get Diggs, Overshown and Revel back healthy and 26-27 could be a chance for a playoff run

I was listening to DC.com draft show at one point during the draft and they said he also did the surgery for Johnathon Brooks and said he would be good for the start of the season, but he ended up not playing until week 11. Then when he finally came back, he played 3 games and tore it again. So, I guess you never know how the rehab goes even if you know how the surgery goes?

absolutely. Everyone is different. but they would be privy to how the surgery itself went. If there was any issues or not.

Even Florio who is a little bit of a carnival chaser himself nailed it. It’s not about winning, it’s about being interesting. That’s all we’ve become. Don’t believe it? Think about this. However many trades were being discussed had to have had two teams involved. Were any other owners and/or GMs out in front of the media for days straight telling everyone how they were working on trades? No, he was the only one who knows he has so badly destroyed his team and done nothing to help his team in any way that he needs to create the illusion of doing something to help this team win even though he never actually does.

Hopefully stuff like this does not make Jerry trade another 4th rounder for another bust.

JJ will JJ and stuff like this won't sway him at all. Bye bye 4th. Used to be a second that he fucked with. So you know, he's getting better....I guess

Yep. I thought he would. I know i
would if I was on the market. Who wouldnt want to have a "more than likely" chance to play in the SB.
It's not done but leaning. Reminds me of when they took Dallas Goedert so we wouldn't get him, even though they had a good TE, and Goedert has murdered us ever since. Jokes on them though, we know better than to take a TE in the first round lol

Hadn't heard this before. A little concerning if true...
