I read a little more about the Isaiah Bond thing. Some of the details that are more rumors because I just saw them on message boards or SM comments and then some that are more official like the below that look pretty damning, but still just early in the legal process of course. I say just stay away and don't want to sign him. Let it play out and if he things take a positive turn for him and he is still unsigned, then take it from there.

That headline is misleading. I will wait for all the evidence and his day in court.

I am giving them a solid B + for this draft. It could have been an A,but that was a high 4th they threw away . I thought about a B- ,but I see at least 3 future starters out of this draft. The first three guys are going to all be starting by 2026. Diggs better get serious about the rehab or he is going to be gone in 2026.
What position are you starting the BC edge at? I think he is going to be fantastic, but I think it's him or Micah as a starter unless we change our defense. You play both in the mid 240's weight at DE and you get run all over and it doesn't seem either is going to be a LBer. Maybe he puts on 10lbs? But I'd rather him keep that quickness for the pass rush personally. Teams are so multiple nowadays and in the nickel so often that I don't worry about who get's to tell everyone what school they went to on Monday Night Football. Just go get sacks.

Me too. But I'm not signing him for this team if it's my call. Who knows, maybe they will sign him. I just don't see the risk reward in case it goes badly. Plus Goodell probably suspends him just off of the admission and attempted payoff that supposedly there is evidence of even if the case goes no further..

So getting back to those trade offers. No chance I give up the BC edge for any of the players discussed and I don't know if I'm giving up the corner either. I'm kind of glad we held our ground. Next year's 4? Sure, why not, Jerry's just going to throw it away eventually anyway.

draft impact on potential trades
Hall: Jets didn't draft a RB
Pickens: Steelers didn't draft a WR
Williamson: Detroit traded up to take a WR with the 6th pick of the 3rd round
Others?
Tampa drafted 2 WR. Could be a trade available there.

Other than the bad look, what risk is there?
UDFA don't have to be given any guarantees and Bond has no grounds to negotiate.
The 1st team to call him, could offer him the lowest possible contract and he'd have only one choice.
At this point he couldn't turn down Rosie O'Donnell hoping for Sydney Sweeney.

Of course Rosie may be a back door girl so Bond would be happy with her

They should at least hear his side of the story. If it comes out he did the deed, it's not like the Cowboys will face sanctions for cutting an undrafted rookie. If it turns out he was set up, you get a guy that was day 2 caliber WR with speed we could use

That is the risk. The reason he wasn’t drafted and hasn’t been signed has nothing to do with money

My son showed me an article that said Cooper’s willing.
Cooper was horrible last year. Maybe 31 is it for him. Not sure we’d be interested if we watch any of that tape. I mean he was really horrible and it doesn’t seem as if it was injury related.

Drafted players get a signing bonus, UDFA can ask but it doesn't have to be given.

If they bring him in on a pay per play contract, they can cut bait, no questions asked.

Yes Dallas needs a WR. Bond needs a team more than a team needs him.

We shall see.

Personally I’d rather have Keenan Allen but I’d be willing to try Cooper.

I watched every Buffalo and Chicago game last year. I’m no guru but either would be a viable #2 to me.

Again, I’m saying it has nothing to do with money. This is not a money thing. As I said, the reason he wasn’t drafted and hasn’t been signed has nothing to do with money. I’m Not sure why you keep brining up money.

Id really like Allen. If you saw every Buffalo game you know they barely even looked Coopers way most games. He was just an afterthought after a while and other than Shakir they didn’t really have anyone any too good.

If I had to guess and knowing the Cowboys, I’d say Cooper is the most likely choice. They love their retreads and won’t likely pay for Allen

I'm saying he's not a risk at this point.

That's fine. Obviously every single NFL team thinks he is or he would have been drafted (the dead money from cutting our 7th rounder Justin Rogers last year was $21K and like $80K over 2 years which is nothing) or at worst signed in the first 5 minutes of the UFDA period and so do I. Risks aren't just in the form of money. They are reputation based as well and team/locker room based in the case of Sanders as we saw also. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cowboys signed him as it is their culture to do so and I'd say most fans will absolutely agree with you and put skill ahead of the off the field issues and character issues every single time. Case in point, the guy who loved your post is the same one spouting off the teams BS about "character first" like a parrot for the last couple of months. :L

I guess the high character thing didn't last too long. Our RB quit his HS football team and didn't play his senior year and our UDFA WR was ejected for spitting on an opponent. Good news is this kid dropped due to the character concerns and other wise was seen as a late day 3 type guy. Not a lot of speed but decent numbers. His two monster games were against Ohio St in the January bowl game and Michigan. I bet they had a draft able grade on him. I haven't heard their thoughts on the UDFAs yet. Usually there are at least a couple that they really like and it seemed to me they signed these guys really quickly this year, so I'm guessing they liked most of them. I'm psyched to read about this guys when the rookies report and then in mini-camp (hey that's all we get) but really when we get to camp.

I see this as camp fodder with a chance. He is just a stupid kid with abilities. Let's see if he makes it outta camp, which I assume he won't. But if he does he has to be on a super short leash and coach needs to have that talk. Even get close to the line and your gone.
