Well, I've been reading up on some of the details of this trial. First off, this all happened in the summer of 2018. It's 2025 and now these men are all millionaires. I guess it's just a coincidence that it's going to trial now.

The alleged victim had 8 drinks and was down to fuck. She also reportedly offered to perform sexual acts and was asking a room full of dudes whether anyone was gonna fuck her....Lol I'm sorry, but what are we talking about here!?!

I agree with you. This chick was likely okay with a bunch of hot, fit dudes fucking her. Also, she never refused anything or resisted physically.

How in God's green Earth can she prove beyond a reasonable doubt that this wasn't all consensual!? Or that she's not a nympho!?

She fucked McLeod consensually at first and then supposedly didn't give consent to the same dude later!? (but also didn't vocalize that)

In 2019, after an investigation of this by London police, they determined that there were insufficient grounds to even lay a charge.

In 2022, the alleged victim was paid $3.55 million by Hockey Canada after a civil suit was filed.

Also, 2 jurors were dismissed, so now it's 9 women and 3 men.

This whole thing just rubs me the wrong way. These men are probably guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but to ruin their lives over that really seems excessive.
NO ONE IN THE LEAGUE HELPED THEM

NO ONE IN THE GOVERNMENT HELPED THEM

while this fraud was being perpetrated against these men and their families and their organizations

THESE PEOPLE ARE SICK

Spot on eaglesnut!! Just like a whole lot of what we are seeing now. A boat load of whack jobs becoming increasingly overt, mudding the clarity of what happened with self-absorbed wants so they can take from men and their families and drive them into the ground doing it!

Rocky Thompson is out! The PP has a chance next year!

Daryl Williams and Angelo Ricci also out.
I wonder what took so long for this to happen. I know we dont have any great players on our team that could dominate a PP but being at the bottom of the league for this long is terrible. This is the one coach i agree that needed to be fired.

This has to sting a little bit for us:

.926 save percentage and 2.14 gaa with 4 shutouts this season

.926 save percentage and 1.95 gaa with 3 wins (leads Nhl) this postseason

Who is it?

Anthony Stolarz, from Edison, NJ. Drafted 45th overall in 2012 by our Flyers.

All of that said, he is 31 years old and has never started more than 33 games in a season. Would be pretty fucking wild if he suddenly won a Cup in a starting role now after having backed up Bob to win one last season.

That's kind of my thing on the goalies right now. Any goalie can get hot or go on a run in the right situation. They have plenty of maybes in Ersson, Bjarnsson, and Zavragin. I'd probably still spend a mid-round pick on one just to keep the pipeline going. Might even use one of their 4 second rounders to do it. But there's no need to get too worked up about it right now. Sign a journeyman in the offseason for a year or two to partner with Ersson and continue trying to build out the rest of the roster.

Maybe when we look back a few years from now the rough goaltending this season (and next?) was the key to the rebuild because it allowed them to add a high end pick.

Yes. I think even an average Nhl backup is better than what we got out of Fedotov or Kolosov this past season. Ersson actually wins games and competes at a high level. His 51-39-12 record with 7 shutouts as a Flyer is not bad, considering how horrific the team has been in front of him. He is good in the shootout too. He stopped 18 of 22 shots (81.8%) this season, which is probably one of the highest percentages in the league.

Also, he's still only 25 years old himself.

Also, for the record, idk if even Craig Berube and a hot Stolarz can lead the Leafs to the Cup. I sure as hell wouldn't bet on it. They are one of those franchises with a rich history that hasn't won anything in forever. Count the Oilers, Canadiens and our Flyers in that group as well though. Sure, we only have 2 Cups, but 40 playoffs and 8 Stanley Cup appearances is a lot of winning over the years. We need to return to that culture asap.

What the F&#K !!!!!?????

All of this drama over one drunken night of wild sex, blow jobs, ass smacking and teabagging amongst a bunch of college age, young adults.

And nearly 7 full years after it happened.

Wow.

I mean...you can put half of the adults on the planet on trial for this kind of shit, at least via one moment in their lifetimes. Both men and women too.

Meanwhile, there will be no sweeps in round 1 of the Nhl playoffs. That speaks a bit to the idea of getting hot, just barely squeaking in and then going on a run. It's not going to happen every year, but eventually a young, hungry team is going to break through and win a Cup. Hopefully this is us in a few years, but we have to get back there first.

Tough weekend for the draft picks. Kings blow the chance for a 3-1 lead last night and Stars got walloped on Saturday. All 4 series out West are 2-2.

Canes cruising along though!

From the Athletic:

One name that’s been bandied about around the league is David Carle, the coach at the University of Denver who has captured two national championships as well as leading Team USA to back-to-back gold medals at the World Junior Championship. Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Saturday that Carle withdrew his name from consideration for the Chicago Blackhawks’ job.

The team source wouldn’t completely rule out Carle as a candidate, but the Flyers, at least at the moment, don’t view him as a fit.

Has he played for the Flyers?

No.

Cross him off the list.

(All seriousness though, doesn’t seem like Carle is interested in going to a rebuilding NHL team. Can’t blame him, hes got a great set up at the college level)

Nobody wants to come to our organization, coaches and free agents included. Just gotta trust the process and hope it works better for us than it did for the 76ers.
