Happy Father's Day T-Roy
When i heard that I said the same thing. That kid would be PERFECT across from Lamb. Speed for daysthat cant be true.
but if it is, we should have already made the trade!

I think the way they have gone about the offseason, they have to get a RB in the first two rounds.
I have heard Jamison Williams from Detroit can be had for a 3rd rounder. There won't be any WR on the board nearly as good as him by round 3, I would jump on that.
that cant be true.

I would jump on it because he is only 24 years old and coming off another great year. I don't mind paying really good players what they are worth, especially really good young guys. Not me. I would for a 4th if we had one, but not a 3rd. He is already in the last year of his contract. Next year he costs you either $15M or a new deal. I’d rather draft one or just sign one.
well the devil would be in the details. If we were trading I assume we would have talked to him about extensions (or atleast we should) He started his career injured, so if we signed him for less than top dollar, which could be very likely if done now. You would have two #1's on the field. For #1 & #2 salaries. He will be a #1 for some team easily. If the guy is asking for the moon. then obviously dont make the trade. We are already paying CeeDee.Not me. I would for a 4th if we had one, but not a 3rd. He is already in the last year of his contract. Next year he costs you either $15M or a new deal. If he was coming off “another great year” I’d agree. But Look at his first two years. listen I like the guy and made a lot of money on him on prop bets last year because I knew he’d blow out his yardage over/unders if he played even 14 games, but he has not been consistent. I do love the talent though even though I wonder about his fit here. We just haven’t been able to really use elite speed guys. Not sure if that has been the offense or the QB but it just hasn’t meshed.I would jump on it because he is only 24 years old and coming off another great year. That said, I get what you're saying. Problem is, the WR's drop off much faster this year than last. Anything after round 2 is a shot in the dark. It's why we are really a 3-4 year rebuild IMO. 3-4 really good drafts. We need to get back to drafting well
I think the fit is just what we need. 17.3 yards per catch, the big play threat we need. People are projecting Golden here for a 1st, if Golden pans out, he would be Jameson. You really wouldn't give up a 3rd for him?If he was coming off “another great year” I’d agree. I think the biggest need is OL. If your RB is constantly met in the backfield there is only so much you can do. Dak can't do shit with pressure, needs help protecting his ass. Lamb is fucking awesome and a warrior but all his balls will be short throws and RAC if dak has no time. That's kind of the sad reality of where we are right now. We really can't miss. I think the biggest NEED we have(of many) is RB1, so if the draft is need, Hampton is fine at 12. 2nd biggest need is WR2 so McMillian or Golden are fine. Third IMO is CB so Johnson or Barron would be good. NT is 4th, Grant wouod be a good pick. 5th would be LT/RG so Josh Simmons or Booker would work. We need an edge, so Walker works. It's going to be really hard for them to make a pick where I throw something at the TV, but i never underestimate Jerry and Stephens ability to do just that
I don't see Detroit parting with him. They have a two headed monster here and it is working out very well and if they didn't get the injury bug, more like a pandemic for them, would have walked though the playoffs.I think the way they have gone about the offseason, they have to get a RB in the first two rounds.

I thought the flute story was well known...
Pearce is rumored to have character issues (compared to Gregory) and was arrested a little over a year ago. So which is it? You can’t trust anything you hear or read about this team.
Personally I’m of the belief that until you get some of these guys into your building you don’t really know what they are like. I’d hate to have my kids hear about some of what I did in College…
Eagles lost their great center and added Barkley and won the Super Bowl. The Cowboys won 3 Super Bowls in 4 years, but when 22 held out, we went 0-2. We had an offensive like when Dak got here that had 3 HOF offensive linemen(Fred won't be, but he certainly was) and never won shit. You better get a RBI think the biggest need is OL. If your RB is constantly met in the backfield there is only so much you can do. Dak can't do shit with pressure, needs help protecting his ass. Lamb is fucking awesome and a warrior but all his balls will be short throws and RAC if dak has no time.
Second biggest need, DT. We get chewed up and spit out from that standpoint. Eagles DOMINATE us in the trenches. And they have saquan. We will never get past them if can't overcome their running game.
RB and WR are candy. I want a steak dinner. Winning SB talk is fun but we can't get there when we are finishing 2nd in the division. Right now skinz have that locked up it seems.
Just my opinion on the state of needs.
Possibly. I wonder if they are being preemptive though. He's a very good but not great player. That team has enormous talent that is starting to get paid/about to get paid. Maybe they don't want to end up like us lolI don't see Detroit parting with him. They have a two headed monster here and it is working out very well and if they didn't get the injury bug, more like a pandemic for them, would have walked though the playoffs.
Exactly. Jerry worrying about image is why we didn't draft Randy Moss, which probably cost us at least 1 more Ring IMO. I don't want Pearce if he OJ'd his girlfriend or if he is a Deshaun Watson serial sex offender, but if the kid got busted at a college party for getting drunk or had a bad attitude or something like that...Hell, Jerry does worse than that on the party bus

No. It's an early 3rd. It's not all that far from a late 2nd. I wouldn't. Let's see how the draft goes. I think there are comparable players who will be on a cheap rookie contract for 4 years, not 1. I don't want to give up that pick and then also have to pay him next year. That's my bigger issue. I think he is going to want big $'s and that would be the reason he is available. I'd rather have signed someone before I did that and kept my pick. Now if we don't come out of the draft with a WR and I could then go back in time, maybe I would, but I think this team is taking a WRI think the fit is just what we need. 17.3 yards per catch, the big play threat we need. That was in band camp. I couldn't sit for a week...I thought the flute story was well known...
I get what you're saying. I guess for me, in a draft where the Cowboys have several needs to address, if I could give up a 3rd and KNOW that I scratched WR 2 off the needs list, I would jump it. Its all how you see the player. I really like that kid. I don't think the deal would hurt us. Certainly not like trading a 4th for Mingo LMAONo. It's an early 3rd. I agree with that. It's why I've agrued that we need to take the best player on our board and not pick for needs. Spend 3 years upgrading the overall talent of this roster and use FA and trades to fill needs. If only we had that 4th...
But, that's water under the bridge at this point. Time to let that one go because we can't get it back. It's just another thing that reinforces the uphill battle this new coaching staff has when the GM is doing things like that. To me, their main job year 1 is just to undo all the wrong that McCarthy and the Jones Boyz have done to the culture of this franchise and start with the building blocks that will hopefully show up in a couple of years. That's part of why I'd love to see a massive improvement in the OL and DL. We just aren't putting a trophy on the shelf this year no matter how many pom-poms we want to waive. Let's get this thing pointed in the right direction so that come 2026 we are back in the mix.

The big problem with the offense early last season was all the pressure allowed by the offensive tackles. Steele and Guyton were terrible against the better pass rushers. Martin also was playing injured and he was allowing a lot of pressure up the middle. Dak had no time to throw.steak dinner.
