How ridiculous. With the pitcher/catcher technology these days where pitcher signals are no longer needed, a pitcher tipping his pitches then get pissed when they’re being relayed is absolutely ridiculous. Yes…. Do a better job at hiding your pitches then. Otherwise it’s your own fault.

Why would any pitcher in their right mind want to fuck with Raleigh? Whether Cal was tipping the batter or not, is irrelevant. Stealing signs is part of the game. It has been for 150 years. WzardHawk is right. If Cal was tipping the hitter, that is on Berrios, not Cal. Every hitter from Pony League all the way through to MLB is taught to hide their grip. Berrios got mentally lazy.

And to add insult to injury after the 'confrontation', Cal drove in two runs on his very next at bat. What the old timers used to say about Frank Robinson was that you didn't want to 'wake him up' or he'd make up pay for it. Bob Gibson wouldn't even throw at Robinson and Gibson threw at everyone. I doubt if Cal is ever unaware at any time between the foul lines, but his intensity was cranked up another notch after that sequence of events.
