If memory serves, a lot of folks were skeptical about it. But since it started, agree that most folks seem to like it. If it accomplishes nothing else, it keeps fans more engaged on more teams, which is good for the league (not to mention the additional revenue that comes from those "extra games".
Truly. Why else would Atlanta and Sacramento fans (the dozens of them) have any hope?

You are set up for being happy either way fan...Heat win, happy. Lose and you get your personal I-told-you-so win and those make you happy.

I think Miami wins.....but I guess a Cavs/Hawks reunion type series would be interesting.

I need this heat/cavs series tbh

Ok...you just proved my point. Even if mid-range was used more, there still wouldn't be the number of fouls that you seem to think, so it wouldn't make up the difference.

I was obviously speaking of 2 pt attempts on the whole.

The lottery, in theory, can keep teams from tanking.

Disagree. If anything, the lottery opens up the chance of more teams tanking to get into better lottery position. It may keep the bottom teams from tanking as hard, but opens up the chances of better teams getting the top incoming players.

And let me ask is that really a bad thing? It may occasionally mean a team that is marginal playoff grade getting a to pick to become an actual contender as opposed to the worst team getting the top pick and at best becoming mediocre (barring a LeBron-like talent).
In the NBA those fringe playoff teams don't really have a chance at the championship anyhow, why not give them a shot at a top prospect to then boost their odds?
