NY Giants have thrown the media into a tizzy.

Shedeur Sanders will be at the Meadowlands on Thursday to work out for the Giants. Right now, no media will be allowed in the stadium.
Yeah. Right.

First question.......Is this to throw off the belief that everyone had that the Giants were going to draft Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter? Or are they really doing this to be sure he's the future QB of the Giants? Talk about getting the draftnicks in a rush to find a toilet.
Well if they select him they become trade bait if they want to add Hunter to the mix

NYG are going either DE or TE depending on who's there. They'll continue to take flyers on the QB position in hopes they can take Manning next year.

Well a lot of teams are going to be interested in Manning next year.

Honestly if I was a betting man I would say good chance Manning isn't in the draft next year. The Manning family have a huge emphasis on education and especially with NIL deals there is no rush to head to the NFL. Throw in he will then have only had one true year of starting and I would bet his uncles tell him getting more training at the college level would be huge for his future.

Very real, but the point was when he declares, as it stands now, he will be a prized pick

True. But having two uncles with so much experience in the NFL as well as a grandfather, my guess is that they will convince him to get a degree and take the NIL money that none of them ever had. He'll still be #1 when he graduates. The name alone gives some people the jitters.

I think it's foolish for players to stay in college to get a degree and play one more year when college itself is not going anywhere. If a player stays that extra year and suffers and injury that could affect his NFL future that's a big risk. Get the money, then go back to college always made more sense to me

For the average football player, that may be true. The Mannings have multiple businesses from retail shops to restaurants, especially in the New Orleans area. We're talking hundreds of millions and opportunities that most players don't have because they don't have name recognition. Archie made sure that all of his sons had an education and probably impressed on them how critical it is to be as smart as athletically gifted. Cooper was the prime example.

You are right with one caveat. A career ending injury would provide an insurance payout.
And you can finish college degree on one leg......

I can see that point.

But in the event of a team being very close to a national championship, that one extra year may affect draft stock and potential pay over a career.

We shall see. Right now his projection of being the #1 overall pick is in big part because of his last name rather than what he has shown on the football field. He has looked decent in the little he has played, but it will be interesting how he handles being the full-time starter this year. I think he will end up a very good player and probably will be a top-5 pick. I do think the 2026 QB class though could be something fun to watch. Names like Allar of Penn State that returned for another year, Nico Lamaleava wherever he ends up. Garrett Nussmeier, Cade Klubnik

I said what I said. He and Tom are close but championships only matter to a degree to me. Colts did Peyton a disservice with how horrible they were at surrounding him with talent.
Oh yeah Marvin Harrison was fucking horrible, and they had a shit run game too
