No, just fix the league where you don't need a preferentially treated star to compete.
Pure fantasy. Nobody is going to strongly compete without two stars, let alone one.

Nasty crossover and cutback in the biggest moment of history. That's the greatest of all time for you.
Mid-range shots, which were what I cited, are still jump shots and don't generate as many fouls as you seem to think. Drives to the basket generate the most fouls.

Hmm, what's that left hand doing? The crossover was after the defender was already pushed past (and really more of a gather dribble).
Fix preferential treatment first and let’s find out
Does the current system fail to do that? What does preferential treatment even have to do with the discussion? We're talking about getting top prospects to the worst teams for competitive balance.
Midrange is a small percentage of 2 pt shots however. Those percentages have a smaller impact as a result.
Does the current system fail to do that?
And I say that as a fan that has been 'screwed' by the lottery.
The threat of the drive creates the wide open mid-range jumper. The exact way the game should be played.![]()

And did it really help them or hurt the teams that got pushed down? Not all that much. In the free agency era it is far more important to have a GM that can build a team through trades than the draft. The draft can get you from bottom to mediocre, but you are just as likely to do that with #5 picks (which is the farthest the worst team can fall, believe me, I know), as the #1.Yes
Too many drafts where teams way too high move up
CLe a few times
Chicago for rose
even risacher last year

This system prevents all out tanking, somewhat, and is better than a silly tournament (no one is going to watch a trashketball tournament) where the best bad team gets the top pick.
Then you will have teams at the bottom of the playoff tanking to get a great pick instead of a 7-10 seed since they are never going to win a championship with that low a seed. And the bad teams will still stink. It does nothing bu hurt the bad teams. And while I am no fan of the in season tournament at least it is basketball, no one is watching a trashketball tournament and I don't think there is enough money in it to interest non-playoff team players to give up their off season. When the hell would you run the tournament? June? Good luck with that.I disagree
Look at how the lottery gets viewed
Fans want hope
Getting play your way to a good pick (plus players still get $$$) is better than ameaningless tournament in the middle of the year
at this point have to hope you are just messing with us. Allow me to give you a hint what you are missing.....wayups and funks. If what you were saying was in any way true of the game of basketball then only 3 pointers would be shot. You are completely wrong even though you are proud of yourself for doing the simplest math.

accurate info? I guess if dunks and layups were outlawed and Barkley, Curry and AI were only players that mattered.I give accurate info. You give nothing. Typical.
eaglesnut to English - "stop smacking me around as you know not in me to just say my logic is way off base."Try speaking in an informative way instead of giving us your mental masterbation questions. Thanks.
Oh, the irony.Nope just included Curry to round it out. I wouldn't want to use only guys that make my case. That would be a really bitch way to discuss it. Your way.
