The whole team indicated he was talking to a fan, not the ref.

Follow that up with another late tech for no reason on Vando. Refs lost their minds late.

I'm saying Vando doesn't react like that if not for the stupid call previous.

Like @bksballer89 said...what Vando did is a T every time.

The Lakers lost their composure.

Are players allowed to use any words they want? Serious question.

Not to the refs...but he wasn't talking to the refs.

4 players explained what was going on to the ref that called it.

Lakers didn't lose because of that call though...they lost because they lost their composure.

It's okay to admit that the refs made a bad call in a Thunder game that benefitted the Thunder.

If that happened to SGA, you'd be on here blaming the refs for the loss.

No if it happened that way I would still be waiting to hear more, which is what we should do here. This could easily be a situation the refs had been told to watch.

Don’t tell me what to do. He had no reason to say anything to the ref. Was a clean play with nothing in question. Think it’s obvious to anyone with a brain that he was talking to the fan

All the trade talk killed them. They were good last season when their Big 3 played together. Small sample size, but we're pretty darn good. Started this season off strong, but once the Jimmy whispers started around Thanksgiving and really starting picking up steam in Dec, everything just became toxic. There were some injures mixed in, but still. The constant talk of deals just poisoned everything. And once it came out the Suns were listening to offers on KD, everyone just quit.

Yep. This is also why refs should be suspended or fined. They can assume shit without punishment

This has always been a terrible take by you.

Are you going to suspend or fine players for missing a shot?

Best refs get the best games in the playoffs. Refs who grade poorly over time don’t get playoff assignments and eventually lose their jobs all together.

I wasn’t watching. Don’t know what happened.

His point is that a player can’t just say whatever he wants. There are some things he could have said, whether to an opposing player or fan that could warrant a T.

Certain levels of trash talk are part of the game. Take things too far though, there are lines that even competitors should never cross.

It was probably a bad call by the ref in this instance. Probably. But I don’t thing it is fair to evaluate completely unless you know exactly what he said.

Just read the fan account of what happened.

Seems like this was definitely a bad reactionary call by the ref on a comment directed to the fan.

But…

Point remains. Luka is not blameless here. You keep throwing obscenities around directed at everyone in your orbit and eventually somebody going to get in their feels and take something the wrong way.

Ref is wrong here. But Luka isn’t necessarily in the right.
