Absolute a foul

He’s grabbing him.

Hou got the ball anyway

Borderline over the back call... I would not have called it personally and do not see Flagg grabbing him. But I do not think the call by ref is so egregious as some are making it out to be.

That said... Houston still got the rebound and I think that actually helped Duke in that situation. Houston could have played for last shot... and I liked their chances to finish it out how teams were playing.

With going to the free throw line... Duke got the ball back with a lot of time to get the play they wanted to run and win it. They just did not get it done...

Duke seemed to get more tight as game got closer at the end... Proctor turnover off leg and missed 1 and 1 front end of FT, trouble in-bounding ball couple of times (timeout needed and James turnover), Knueppel with layup short (good defense) and Flagg short on the last shot (defense pretty good... but IMO was still a good look... especially for the player of the year).

I agree with this

I just don’t agree with situational foul calling

If it’s in the foul in the first minute, it’s a foul in the last minute

Frankly considering the long rebound it’s possible hou got a fast break score and the game basically goes the same way (timeout, flagg Miss down 1, fts)

I thought the referees were much more poor in the Auburn vs Florida game towards end of game... thought there were few calls that favored Auburn and Florida was getting the short end (clean bloack by Haugh called as foul at the hoop, Cardwell with clear hold on Haugh when he was trying to move over to defend Broome, Broome with clear foul not called...).

Clayton Jr. was so impressive... some of the contested shots he made were next level.

I do not recall body foul.... and if it was, they were not calling it the same way at other end of court at that time.

As a defender you allowed your space from the floor to the ceiling.

You can absorb as much contact as possible if you stay in that space and it shouldn't be called a foul. Even when airborne.

wondering what kind of ratings, viewership numbers the National Championship game garners tonight ...

guessing that major advertisers probably wanted the NC to be Duke/Auburn; probably paid a premium for that eventuality; probably whining about partial rebates now ...

Still odd that the highest rated NCAA TV ratings was in 1979. But that was Bird v. Magic. Larry Bird was like the Loch Ness Monster, often discussed, never seen

That and the 64 team tournament. Made it possible to pick the thing out start to finish. I can remember when the small conferences were playing NCAA games while the SEC and ACC were playing their tournaments. So the #7 and #10 seed would play before they knew their next opponent. From 1985 on, everyone was filling out their little brackets

If hou loses they’re probably regretting all the second chances they didn’t take advantage of early on
