So Myles asked for a meeting with ownership and was turned down. That’s real fn smart.

Yes he did...what's the point of the meeting when Haslam is not going to say anything that Berry has not said and he agrees with what Berry's approach has been(likely he had a hand in coming up with said approach)?

does this need to happen...really?
Myles - Can you please trade me I'd really like to go?
Haslam - no
Myles - pretty please?
Haslam - no

Either the Browns will honor his request and deal him or they wont and he can play or retire....or my guess on what happens he will play AND agree to a massive extension.

Just read that he says he would hold out if not traded.
and maybe he would....but he kind of has to say this if he wants a deal doesn't he?

Just don't see a guy as into stats as him missing games. Never mind the $1.5 mil per game it would cost. But maybe.

There is no harm in talking to a guy, if nothing else you look him in the eye and say the GM is in charge.

They have spoken to him end of year and likely Haslam in those meetings. They knew then he wanted out. Nothing has changed.

I do get what you are saying but that point can be gotten across in a call, through the media (as Myles seems to want to play this), etc. Or likely it has already been expressed to him in the end of season meeting.

The point of the meeting would be to not get confrontational with your player.

You really think the Browns are the ones getting confrontational in all this and not the guy making a spectacle of himself and the situation in the media?

Again....the Browns knew about this request long before Myles made it public. Likely Haslam was there when Myles made it known. Haslam is letting his FO handle this situation - like we should want our owners to do as long as they trust said FO.

Not the first major company where the owner wants his leaders to handle situations like this.

I agree with that in general, but this is the franchise player we are talking about here.

I certainly wouldn't be upset at all if Haslam did just meet with the guy but we don't know what all has gone down here. Might not be as simple as will you plaese meet with me? and Haslam said no. For all we know he said he would but told Myles he needs to go to him and Myles refused which Myles turned into he wont meet with me.

All over the place as Myles has been wouldn't put this past him.

That's how I see it too. I get that there's a chain of command, etc. But there are also certain players that you break that protocol for, imo.

Maybe.....but they might not think you break it for a guy who has made a spectacle of himself like Myles has, tried to make the team look bad, wants a trade but made it harder to trade him.....all while sticking by him in a couple instances where he made a complete ass of himself.

But the team is bad and does look bad. You guys signed a rapist and gave him a full guaranteed deal. I think the Browns make the Browns look bad not Myles Garrett.

The Raiders traded a 3rd rounder to Seattle for Geno.

Loved the Carroll and Kelly hires, loved the Crosby extension, do not love this move at all.
Why. They need to rebuild they aren’t winning this year, now they have a middling QB while they try to turn things around
