BTW, any one of those teams may also want Kupp to go with Stafford. There could be additional picks given-up by the Rams to get the trade done and to get another First Rounder.
I don’t understand the Rams having to give up picks to trade Stafford and Kupp.

There are teams that need a QB, and this years class is considered weak in that department.

If the Rams don’t get a 1st for trading Stafford in a weak QB class, they are stupid for 1) trading him and 2) getting less than they should.

If a team wants Kupp, then they should be willing to trade for him without the Rams giving up anything ( unless it’s to get a higher pick ).

Here is my 2 cents on the Stafford situation.

1) don’t trade him for anything less than a 1st rounder at the very least.

2) if they don’t trade him, make him play out the contract he already signed and still has 2 years left on.

What is he going to do, sit out the season at his age? It would be very stupid of him to do so. It will not look good for him and will come off as a ME first guy who is only about the money.

If I’m the Rams FO, that’s what I would do. Sign JG for another season and roll with him if Stafford does intend to sit out the season.

I am tired of the Rams FO caving and playing nice guy by getting way less in trades to placate their players preferred destination, or paying way too much to resign players way before their contract is up.

This way of doing business has to stop. Belicheat knew it, and ran his team that way. It’s about the team, not one player.

Stafford is number 2 on the all-time NFL money list. The only guy (barely) above him is Rodgers and that's because he's four years older. Stafford makes 2 to 4mil per year in endorsements off the field.
Be a team player and cut the crap. But as we now know, it's not about the team, it's all about him getting all he can even though he has a contract in place. The NFL should change the rules and not allow this kind of thing to happen, it makes the league look stupid. What good is a contract if halfway through they demand more? I bet Brock Purdy would love to have been able to do something like this, but he can't because it's a rookie deal? How about Verse and Fiske? They can't get more and they certainly outplayed their contracts... Makes no sense.

Well guys, when have you known the ShitferBrains Twins to EVER get the market value in trading players?? Both of you could name player after player these two dimwits have undersold in order to move them, like Goff, Brockers, Gurley, Ramsey, White, Cooks, Everett, certainly Jones and now they will probably do the same with Stafford and Kupp. If the Limp Biscuit would step-in right about now and tell them both, "That's Enough" then MAYBE things would change. But don't hold your breaths!!

My update feelings on the Stafford situation.

If he is serious about winning a Super bowl, then staying with the Rams is in his best interest. If the Rams are serious about winning a Super Bowl, then keep Stafford is in the best interest of the team. Parting makes no sense for either side. Why trade Stafford and go out an get an older QB in Aaron Rodgers? Stafford is better than Rodgers right now. Same with Kirk Cousins. Stafford is better. The only way I see Rams and Stafford parting ways is because Stafford left to get paid. If he wants to win, he sure as hell won't do that in New York or Las Vegas; the Giants & Raiders are the two most mentioned teams as landing spots for Stafford should be traded because they have large cap space. The Steelers are also a rumored landing spot too but they lack offensive weapons.

To me, the Rams and Stafford need to mend this. He is our best option at remaining competitive over the next few seasons. Extend him and then find a replacement in the next offseason. Draft someone and let them watch.

Well, he is a top 10 QB but is not paid like the one. Lawrence, Cousins, Prescott, Tua, Herbert are all making more than him and Stafford is better than those guys. He's making 27mil, they are making 50 plus. That is where the issue is. Like it or not, that's the dispute. I understand your point but I don't see a way the NFL can make a player play out the contract.

But players have to play out their rookie contracts without the ability to renegotiate, how does that work? Plus, he's 27mil, plus the prorated 15 mil of the signing bonus. So he's really making 42mil and his cap number is just under 50mil. With the signing bonus he made about 100mil in the first year of his contract alone, that's why he gets less now.

As for the other guys, so just because a team like Dallas, Miami and Atlanta are run by idiots and give Prescott/Tua/Cousins a ridiculous contract, we should have to pay our guy more? What happens next year when another QB or QB's sign a huge deal, we should go through all this again? When does it stop? Lawrence and Herbert at least are still young, not injury prone(like Tua) and can throw a deep ball without the WR having to break off their pattern to come back to the ball most of the time.

Also, he's a top 10 QB because our oline protected him so well. Even Jimmy G looked great behind our line. If Stafford played for the Giants last year, would he be a top 10 QB? Not even close.

Also, I was watching some of our season highlights yesterday and I can't tell you how many of the passing highlights were our receivers making great plays on badly thrown balls. Puka alone saved Staffords ass over and over throughout the season. Robinson did the same quite a few times.

Let's also keep in mind, that extra money going to Stafford means at least one less free agent we can bring in. That could be another top free agent Olineman, WR, CB or LB that could make our offense or defense elite and potentially bring us a Superbowl championship.

The latest on Stafford is hewants $50 mil per year for three years. Also, minority owner, Tom Brady has called and talked with Stafford's agent Jimmy Sexton about the possibility of Stafford going to the Raiders. The Raiders have alot of cap space and now the question for the Rams is what will they take to move Stafford and possibly Kupp. The Rams are not going to pay Stafford $50 mill per season for the next three years.

Rumors indicate that Brady really wants Stafford and Brady could be talked into taking Kupp as well. The question remains as to what the Rams are willing to have come back to them in Draft capital. Some think a First Round pick swap will get the ball rolling but others believe it will be a I Forst rounder this year, A Second rounder this year, a Second rounder next year, and a 4th Rounder this year for Kupp.

Meanwhile, in New York, the Geeants have pretty much stated they are not giving-up the 3rd Overall pick for a 37-year old QB. So stay tuned on this one as the deadlines march closer.

If Stafford and Kupp go to the raidersb, expect the Rams to sign Aaron Rodgers to a two-year deal and he will bring Davante Adams with him as a FA. This could get interesting since the Rams just hired Rodgers' favorite coach Alex van Pelt.

I also think the Rams and Stafford are slowly saying good-bye to one another as I think the Rams should finely move the last of the three pilars that the Snooperbowl team was built around. The next to go after this year will probably be Havenstein.

The one FA the Rams should absolutely re-sign is Alaric jackson. They should NOT ignore him like they are doing because they are going FAFO and lose him for monies they can pay now and then they will beg Notebum to stick around. Notebum is the guy that should walk and Jackson is the guy they should keep.

Jackson should def be the priority, but between him and the raise Stafford wants, it won't leave us much else for other really good players to improve our team. Maybe one more top free agent, maybe.

And with the attitude of the ShitferBrains Twins when it comes to O-lineman, they will cater to Stafford's every whim and not take of business in keeping Jackson. I just am smelling a dead rat already knowing what those two have done in the past with O-lineman!

A lot of news going around about Baun in the Philadelphia area. They Eagles really want to keep him but he has said he will test free agency. Hopefully he isn't blowing smoke just to get the Eagles to up the ante. He would definitely plug a huge hole in the defense.

He just won a ring. He's definitely trying to get paid, nothing more.

So as we figured, it appears that Stafford wants at least 50 mil a year... I'd rather trade him at this point. As I've said before, that means we will either hamstring our cap room now, in the future or both.

Of course he does. He's not going to request an extension to make less. He wants more guaranteed money. If they can get him for $55 or less for 2 years mostly guaranteed and a non-guaranteed 3rd year, I think both sides are happy enough to get it done. He's definitely worth more than Tua.
