Sources with the Pittsburgh Steelers are saying that the Steelers are not interested in resigning QB Russell Wilson and are saying that the Steelers have made multiple calls to the NE Patriots in regards to the availability of Joe Milton III. At first the base offer was a fourth round draft pick to see if it could perk up interest. The Patriots were not interested. Fast forward to post Buffalo/Baltimore playoff game Sunday January 19th. According to one source, the Steelers now have the Patriots attention. They supposedly have dangled WR George Pickens to obtain Milton. A second source says that the Steelers are looking to do the same trade but want a first round swap of draft picks.

Picken is in the final year of his contract and the Steelers don't pick until 2st in the 2025 draft. That's way too high a price for the Patriots in my opinion. Maybe if the Steelers toss in TJ Watt to sweeten the deal, but the Patriots have to have both Pickens and Watts agree to contract extensions of no less than three years.

As soon as the Pittsburgh interest in Joe Milton got leaked, other teams have not sat back and watched. Reports are coming ourt that the New Orleans Saints have inquired about Milton's availability and price. Derek Carr is in his final year of his contract and has publicly proclaimed that h will not sign for less than he's making. Saints are looking at Plan B in New England and will reportedly cough up a third round pick.

Now comes a third team. The 49ers and Brock purdy can't seem to come o terms on an extension and they are looking at Plan B. Joe Milton appears to have their interest and the word is that they would be interested if a third round pick would seal the deal.

So now we have Pittsburgh at #21, San Francisco at #11 and New Orleans at #9.

Soup is getting stirred and if the Patriots decide to move Milton, think anyone would be willing to sweeten the pot to a second rounder???

This could get very interesting if the rumors are true. How about a 3rd and a serviceable starting lineman?

Im not sure all these rumors are true. Milton played one insignificant game against Buffalo's scrubs and looked good. I scour the internet daily and have not heard all this banter about Milton. But if any of this is true and nothing happens in FA, once the top two QBs roll off the board in early round one the Pats can entertain calls. A second round pick seems high for a guy with no experience

Thing about Milton is that he has a stronger arm than most of the 2024 drafted QBs. He also ran and scored nearly as many TDs as he threw. The game against the bills showed that he can play better than the second teams of the NFL, therefore, he's much less of a gamble than trying to sort through a very weak QB class in 2025.

We all know that the NFL doesn't always make straight up decisions. Once one team starts looking at a Milton and willing to offer a fourth round pick, and you need a QB, a third round pick to scoop up what is a known quantity and semi known quality isn't a strange thing to do.

Like anything else at this time of the year, no one has any 100% guaranteed knowledge of anything. But we know, where there's smoke, there has to be a fire.

Jabrill Peppers has been found not guilty in the case of domestic vilonce brought by his gold-digger girlfriend.
This case went to jury trial and he was fully aquitted.
This is good news, regardless of our plans for him.

Hew threw it like 85 yards coming out of high school and has said that after that he has never tried to throw it as hard or as far as he could. As we know, the carburetor on his arm stumbles at low rpm. Too much cam, oversized jets. running too rich.

He also ran and scored nearly as many TDs as he threw.

He played college ball for 6 years. He threw for 37 total touchdowns and ran for 12. Not quite the total you made up. There was a reason he was a 6th round pick. And don’t give me “Brady was a 6th round pick” comparison.

Please do your homework before posting. Thank you.

He actually threw the ball 100 yards at the Patriots practice field. He took two steps up to the goal line at one end and the ball hit the opposite goal line. It wasn't filedm and was only talked about by AVP. He was filmed in practice throwing one 80 yards and it was caught by Kendrick.

I watched him in college. He was green A.F.
  • 2018 (Michigan): Redshirted. Played in 4 games as a reserve (3-4-75.0, 58 yards, INT passing; 7-31-4.4, TD rushing).
  • 2019 (Michigan): Played in 4 games as a reserve (3-7-42.9, 59 yards, TD, INT passing; 5-16-3.3, TD rushing).
  • 2020 (Michigan): Played in all 6 games with 5 starts (80-141-56.7, 1,077 yards, 4 TDs, 4 INTs passing; 38-109-2.9, TD rushing). Lost starting job in the season finale to Cade McNamara. (covid year)
  • 2021: Played in 8 games with starts in the first 2 games (32-62-51.6, 375 yards, 2 TDs passing; 28-129-4.6, 2 TDs rushing). Won starting job in camp but was injured versus Pittsburgh and was a reserve for the rest of the season because of the strong play of Hendon Hooker.
  • 2022: Played in 9 games with 2 starts for the injured Hendon Hooker (53-82-64.6, 971 yards, 10 TDs passing; 18-77-4.3 rushing). Orange Bowl MVP (19-28, 251 yards, 3 TDs) in win over Clemson.
  • 2023: Started 12 games (229-354-64.7, 2,813 yards, 20 TDs, 5 INTs passing; 78-299-3.8, 7 TDs rushing).

Looks like the hierarchy of the new Patriots is beginning to sort itself out.

Vrabel would find a place where he could watch the Senior Bowl practices and he would be joined by Cowden, Wolfe and Highsmith. No one would leave his side to go pee. But, big BUT, Tom Groh never joined them once, not even for one second. Groh was observed walking all over the field and talking with coaches and players for every practice. Mike Giardi said the he was on the field even for warm ups.

Groh has a reputation of having extremely poor social skills, but a brain that finds things and stores them like a computer system. When the foursome broke up, Groh was still on the field scouting the players who stayed late.

The first thought was that Groh may getting pushed out. Then a non-Boston media guy saw Vrabel and Groh by themselves in an eatery and asked Giardi what was going on? Giardi did some digging before returning to Boston Friday morning and he believes that Groh is doing all of Vrabel's dirty work because Vrabel can't be on the field getting anything done if he has three guys hanging on his belt loops.

Cowden is Vrabel's front office quasi-GM.
Groh might become the college scouting director.
Highsmith might become the pro-player director

Eliot Wolfe might be the odd man out.

Rumors...

WR Coach has been a need for a while now. I would welcome him.
