I hate to be pessimistic, but who do we beat and how? We seem to oddly have Detroit’s number, but they are SO dialed in this year that I don’t see it.

I’ll call it at we go 1-5 and cannot guess who we’ll beat, but knowing us, it’ll be a flukey 12-10 win or something where their QB gets hurt or something.

I dont know, who do we beat.....??

Minnesota,Drtroit and GB are miles ahead of us......

And Malik Willis is looking good when spelling for Love.....

Would not be surprised if we go 0-6.......

Our schedule as goes:
Ari dont sleep on these guys, this is not a gimmee
NE
GB
Minn
Det
SF
Minn
Det
Sea
GB
1-9??
2-8??

Minnesota coming back to Earth a bit, it appears. GB squeaked by Jacksonville. Where are these team world beaters?

Detroit looks tough, yes. However, we do seem to have Goff's number and have faired well against that defense (even though Fields is gone).

Going into our divisional games at 6-3. Then, splitting with division and with SEA/SF. That is a very reasonable path to 10-7, IMO.

This team is on the path to 8-9 wins. Pretty much what most expected at the beginning of the season. I've seen nothing out of them that convinces me otherwise. Offseason needs some significant changes to take the next step.

I dont want to hear about another stellar Poles offseason. As soon as Fluke got here he got rid of Mack because he did not fit the defensive scheme. It has been like that ever since.

The better rushing teams just allow an offensive line to just push forward and dominate a game. We had Herbert who has gotten almost 5 yards per carry mostly going between the tackles. Every run play I see have pulling linemen. These are 300-330 pound men who are running 5 or 6 yards to get to their block instead of just pushing someone right now. That is when an offensive line gels. Guard and center just double team someone and push them back. Then do your fancy shit after you wore that defense down. We say our line sucks but when do they get a shot to just go man on man anywhere other than the goal line? Just run down a teams throat for a series and score.? I dont think 5 linemen exist the way Waldron wants to attack a defense.

Do we really know what we have and what we need to replace other than the coaching staff? The only reason this is the best division in football is we have hardly played eachother yet. I have a feeling there is going to be a tougher division in football by december.

There’s a good chance the Vikings suck after losing Darrisaw. I think we can get a game against them.

That is a big loss for them, buthey also have Hockenson coming back tomorrow.....not sure who their backup is,butwith the right adjustments, maybe not as much as we think.

And I believe that defense is legit.......

Getting rid of Mack was a good thing. Can't criticize Poles for that.

The line stuff however, I agree completely with.

For the 500th time….they traded Mack because a rebuild was coming and they didn’t need him or his contract.

Had nothing at all to do with scheme.

Scheme quite literally had NOTHING to do with it. It's silly.

I guess my direct counterpoint to this thread is that the Bears have been in every single game, despite not having scored first in any of them. I doubt they get steamrolled that bad that they go 1-5 or 0-6 in the division. We'll get a few ball bounces. But that doesn't mean there isn't glaringly obvious problems. 8-9 wins will happen unless we experience some significant injuries.

In lieu of who we are playing today, are the Bears who we thought they were?

Banking on a win here.

Welp...

Looking at this thread in hindsight?

We played all three divisional opponents. In summary, I saw three VERY clear ways for us to have won those games. lol. The "how" wasn't exactly the issue. All three were right there for us to take. Execution on those potential kill shots? Lacking... to say the least.

No "ball bounces" with Eberflus. Maybe post Eberflus? I could actually see us playing hard for Brown and finishing okay down the stretch. Not that it matters much.

Despite it being most likely wrong at this point, I still stand by the post you quoted. What has happened since the Washington game is unbelievable, even for the Bears. Our talent is way better than 6 losses in a row. But yeah, finishing with 7 wins or more this season would be impressive at this point considering the competition we'll be facing.

San Fran looks a winnable game, but we suck on the road sooo....I guess we'll see. I'll be there at the Sports bar for it, the lonely Bears fan. The regs will show me the normal pity and I'll have my chicken wings. *fist pump*
