One Inning - and Crochet looks good.

Moral win?No offense - Sox lose 1-0. Good Pitching by the Sox, but they didn't threaten to score.
Why did he leave his hometown?Kinda sad knowing that it was Jason Bennetti calling it on TV. But hey, we also went the entire game without an error!!! Progress, boys. Progress.
Don't know the whole story, but I believe it partly had to do with our owner not ponying up the cash to retain him. The Tigers gave him a much better offer. But there may be other reasons as well, not sure. Why did he leave his hometown?
Been a long time since we’ve had someone in the booth that isn’t a former Tiger or from Michigan.
A day off is a day we didn't lose.Young Jiddy: Sox are off today? That sucks.
Current Jiddy: It's for the betterment of all of the fanbase that we're off today.
no end of game summary?Sox up 6-4 after 5. Two HRs by Robert - so far - and one by Shemake. Shemake has played well in the field - on the bases and at the plate.
they bare a remarkable similarity to the '23 sox, don't they? eloy had the perfect opportunity to put some runs on the board and hit into an inning ending dp instead.Sure - the Sox lose in 10 - 7-6. The Bullpen allowed the Tigs to chip away and pull out an extra inning win.
The Sox did squander a lot of good opportunity to score and go ahead in the late innings. Eloy hit is ball hard - down the 3rd base line, but the 3rd baseman got a good bounce and started a double play. All Eloy had to do was hit a fly ball and tie up the game.they bare a remarkable similarity to the '23 sox, don't they? eloy had the perfect opportunity to put some runs on the board and hit into an inning ending dp instead.
ho hum . . .
all well and good . . . . . . except defense doesn't win ball games! This guy Shewmake looked pretty good today. I was very impressed with him. He played SS today made all the plays and throws. He steals bases and today (today anyway) he hit very well.
Vaughn made two plus defensive plays - that I didn't see from him last year. Niki Lopez is a very smooth fielder. Robert also had a couple of plus defensive put outs. Dom Fletcher threw a tiger out at 3rd from RF = showing good sense and a good arm.
Soroka didn't have good stuff today, but I thought he pitched like a veteran who never lost his temperament when things went badly and ate up 5 innings without his stuff - turning the game over with a lead.
Just to add something about Luis Robert - he did not chase a single outside slider in any at bat. Man - if he can do that for 500 abs - he will have a monster season.
