I admittedly was guilty of that, but I sent you a post about possibly moving on to Daniels weeks ago.

As far as Howell's future, I'm willing to give him three more weeks before I make a final decision. Definitely leaning Daniels though.

I get the line is bad, but Burrow was the most sacked QB in the league and he took his team to the Superbowl.

I really wanted to find out if QB was a need. That's why it was so important for us to play Howell this year.

Brissett had no future here and he has no future here, so inserting him as the starter would have at best allowed us to back into the playoffs and ruin our draft position.

At worst, we still wouldn't know what we had in Howell and spend 2024 trying to figure that out.
Where would you put Daniel’s? Out of the QB’s that are coming out??

If you can keep him healthy and do for him what Cincinnati did for Burrow, he becomes the best in the division and one of the top QBs in the conference.

I haven't watched enough of Maye to give you an educated answer. I'm almost positive he'll be the best QB available when we pick though. I like him better than Nix and Penix. I don't see Daniels getting past the Giants.

Comparing Daniels to Forbes overlooks a few things. His position does not require physicality to play it.

Why would you compare Jayden Daniels to Emmanuel Forbes when Daniels is 6’4” 210 pounds to Emmanuel Forbes who is 6’ 180 pounds?

Wouldnt it be more fair to compare him to Randy Moss who was also 6’4, 210 pounds? Maybe Randall Cunningham who was 6’4, 212 pounds?

I heard this one all week long so let's operate on the premise that it was indeed a prevent defense, also garbage time, and that Jacoby played in meaningless minutes. How do you account for the things that your eyes told you? Jacoby actually manipulated the pocket to take pressure off of himself, made very quick decisions, and got the ball out of his hands. He threw receivers open, and his ball placement was pretty good. Your eyes weren't lying to you, the offense "looked" better because it was better. At this point, I wouldn't allow Brissett anywhere near the field in these last few games. There's simply too much at stake!
I beg to differ. Brissett is what he is, a journeyman. We don't know what Howell can become after a handful of games. 2nd year of rookie contract, just bring him back. If we can somehow manipulate drafting Daniels I'm on board with that as well.

Sorry man, but when you say "We don't know what he is" speak for yourself. I know exactly what he is and more important, what he isn't. If your ceiling for him does not eclipse Dak or Hurts, then at best he'll be the third-best QB in the division. (4th depending upon what the Giants do about their QB woes)
Btw; you don't have to "manipulate" the draft to draft a QB. Right now they are selecting 4th and will have their choice of at least two.
This isn't about Brissett, it's about how badly he made Howell look comparatively as professional QBs.

At some point, the excuse-making threatens reasonable conversation.

That is what this fanbase does better than most others.

We are masters at coming up with excuses.

Other fanbases notice this as well.

We have to learn to take it easy on them! It's all happening because of secondhand PTSD brought on by neurodegenerative Snyderism and Riverboat anxiety. :pound: :D

Since most want to dump on Howell, let me throw this out there and see if some of yours memory matches with mine. I seem to recall a time back when RG3 was hurt and Cousins started several games and looked bad. He was benched for McCoy. I guess the skins should have given up on Cousins.

McCoy signed with the Washington Redskins on April 3, 2014.[162] On October 19, 2014, against the Tennessee Titans, McCoy replaced Kirk Cousins after halftime, with Washington trailing 10–6 and Cousins having caused two turnovers. On his first pass, McCoy completed a 70-yd touchdown pass to Pierre Garçon. McCoy then went on to lead the Redskins on a game-winning drive, winning the game 19–17.[163] On October 27, 2014, McCoy was named the starter over Cousins, and had his first start on the team against the Dallas Cowboys.[164][165] In his first start since 2011, McCoy completed 25 of 30 passes for 300 yards with a rushing touchdown and an interception, earning an overtime victory against the Cowboys, his favorite team growing up.[166] The team benched him for injured starting quarterback Robert Griffin III after McCoy's two victories. The team lost the next 3 games without McCoy. On November 25, it was reported that McCoy would replace the benched Griffin III in the November 30 game against the Indianapolis Colts.[167] McCoy was placed on injured reserve on December 16 due to a neck injury he suffered in a shutout loss to the St. Louis Rams.[168]

They actually did give up on Cousins! What's your point?

My point is he became the starter again after struggling and played some good football here. The fact the dumbasses tried to low ball him and he didn't resign is secondary.

I am not saying that Howell is definitely the answer. He has 3 more weeks to make his case. I just wouldn't use the fact that Jacoby outplayed him in a meaningless half of football to be the final straw. Given Howells recent struggles, I see why some may want to draft a new QB. I am just not convinced that anyone that is available is going to be automatically better.

I can see the possibility of him being better than both. Hurts has a HOF Oline and you can see he’s more hesitant about running with the ball now and his play is declining. He also has two good wrs, rb, and te

Based upon what? He's a Colt McCoy, Baker Mayfield type! Can you see either of them being better?
OK, let me be fairer to you... who do you see as his NFL comps?

SN: Hurts is nursing some sort of knee issue and it will probably require a bit of cleanup/ correction when their season is done.

What I don’t get is Howell is putting up numbers that are amongst the best of a lot of all time greats and is right there with Mahomes , burrow , hurts etc . And yet he is baker mayfield ? After 16 starts ? With his dysfunctional team and that has quit ?

Over and over again I ask what signature wins does Daniel’s have ? Or Williams I was told 2022 over Alabama 11-2 no playoff , and ole Miss 8-5 while going 8-4
In 2023 they are 9-3,with a loss to FSU and losses to ole miss and Alabama

Now let’s check Williams 2022 2 losses to Utah one a huge blowout , and a loss to Tulane

7-5 , losses to blowout loss to ND , another loss to Utah , loss to Washington, the crying game , loss to Oregon blowout loss to UCLA

So these guys , no real signature wins In college are now world beaters in the NFL ? Because of a few highlight reel plays ?

These guys play well vs patsies and come down to earth when they are tested vs the best college football has to offer while San Howell is baker mayfield because his o/ line sucks . His defense is CFL , and his coaches are JV ?
