Been sitting in the Minneapolis airport for a couple hours people watching. Have yet to see a single piece of Twolves apparel, nothing. Admittedly I could have missed it on a dude though.
Isn’t everyone wearing a heavy coat this time of year?

How did you forget the wizards?

The league need to take all these spurs games off national tv asap

Not the Spurs.

I want to watch them from time to time.

Watching Wemby develop is pretty important to the league.

It’s just kind of ugly watching him try to do everything they are asking him to do. Totally different situation than Chet is in.

Yes, they earned it over the course of the season. Sometimes those play in teams are there because of injuries, etc. And yes, it's better than guaranteeing a team a spot because of a few games in December.

And if chances are they'd be top 20 anyway, we don't need to guarantee them a spot.

There will be years where the 10 seed wins like 32 games.

Don’t think that needs to be protected.

Getting the 10 seed isn’t a major reward, but it could give the tournament a bit more meaning as insurance for a team that has bad injury luck in the second half.

Another potential issue with guaranteeing a playoff spot.

What's to stop a team that won the IST, but doesn't have a realistic shot at a title from tanking the rest of the season so they not only get the extra money from making the playoffs, but also getting a high draft pick?

If you make the playoffs, you don't get the high draft pick (out of the lottery by rule).

excel?
no one

win 25 games? Dwayne Casey and any number of 500 former and current coaches who aren't actively trying to get their boss fired.

What I'm saying is that it is an intentional plan to not win this year for both franchises. What decent coach wants to put that on their resume?

the only person intentionally not winning is Monty. If the goal was to not win they'd have dealt Bojan.

That's how bad this coaching job by Monty is. He's taken a team with most of the same pieces and added Cade and Ausur and managed to be worse.

I can't speak to the in-game coaching. Does it seem like bad coaching, or is he being ignored by the kids?

I was thinking about the final that we just saw and the Pacers.

They're a solid team that is capable of beating anyone in the NBA on a given night but aren't a threat to win the title this season.

Had they beaten the Lakers in the final and were guaranteed a playoff spot...they could tank the rest of the season.

In fact, if I were a Pacers fan, that's exactly what I'd want them to do.

Why put it all on the line though?

With a few tweaks this Pacers team could get HCA for most of the playoffs. Heck, they're one game in the loss column away from the 2nd seed as it currently stands.

If the prize for winning the IST is a 7/8 seed spot, this all become irrelevant. Pacers get a top 4 seed and this is a non issue.

I really don't think a team with a legitimate chance of gaining HCA in the playoffs is going to give that all up for a chance at the 8-15th pick. Because let's be honest, there are a lot worse teams out there that are going to get more ping-pong balls than the Pacers.

both

he clearly lost the team somewhere. I'd suspect it started with him freezing out Jaden Ivey for no reason. The sad thing is Ivey was ecstatic to come play for detroit.

He finally landed on a reasonable rotation last night with Ausur at the 4 and giving up on Stew being a 4. They gotta move someone at the 5 obviously. Jalen Duren is their starting center. Which that whole log jam isn't Montys fault.
