He's a weird guy who has never landed in the right place. Oddly enough Detroit could certainly use him right now.

You don’t take the min deal with a contender that has a glut of 3s and 4s if you are trying to prove yourself.

That can go horribly wrong.

Christian Wood out of the rotation
Such a bad decision for his career to sign in LA.

Bad fit and too many guys to compete with for minutes.
Dude (Christian Wood) will put up some offensive stats... but he seems to be a pretty clear net negative overall.

Simply put: in this day and age in the NBA, tough to find consistent minutes for a big that can't move his feet and therefore can't play defense.

I don't think he's as bad a defender as you're saying. His on off is actually a net positive this year and he's had years where he was plus 7 and 10 (albeit on bad teams)

He isn't hitting 3s at anywhere near his norm is the real issue right now. Yes JV is a better plus defender and when Wood isn't shooting well it eliminates his upside on that end.

Long story short he needs a more defined role...he struggled with that in Dallas also.

Lebron is obviously the ultimate Swiss army knife in terms of allowing other players to play out of position but Prince effectively being the 2 is very strange.

If I'd tweak anything it's clearing out Prince and Wood for a more typical 2 to start and split minutes with Reaves.

Fair enough.

My opinion is mostly based on my own personal eyeball test... but I admittedly have only seen Wood play here and there over the course of the last few years. Anywho, whenever I have seen him play he screams "target" to me; as in, put that guy in a pick-and-roll situation when he's on defense and a good look for the offense should follow the clear majority of the time.

He hasn't been that bad on defense. Can't remember which games but he had 2-3 where he was pretty good on defense.

Yeah, he was helpful when everyone was hurt and he'll probably get some minutes in games where they need his scoring. But he just doesn't bring the defense Ham wants.

True. His defense hasn't been as bad as advertised when the Lakers got him. He's been fairly average. Either he or Hayes were always going to lose minutes as soon as Vando came back and Hayes has been better defensively.

Also, I don't think anyone expected what the Lakers have gotten from Reddish. That's a big part of why there aren't as many minutes available.

Yep.

Reddish has been good since he been starting. And the defense got better when Vandy, Reddish, and Hach returned from injuries
