Can’t believe they did it. Needed first step in getting out of this mess.
don't know what it means, but, last night i dreamed i signed shaquille o'neal to the sox for next year for $83,000!
""Grifol offers high praise for GM candidate Getz""
gee! think someone's trying to get on the ass-kiss fast lane?
i'm not impressed in the slightest with grifol. here's hoping whoever new IS brought in they wipe out this team top to bottom and do things right.
however, seeing as how we still have the MAIN virus (reinsdork) still in place i won't get my hopes too high.
From everything I've been reading, it's looking more and more like Reinsdorf will play it safe and go with Chris Getz as GM. I can't speak for all Sox fans, but I'm willing to bet that the vast majority will not be happy with that. He's the guy who has overseen our crappy farm system and we're supposed to count on him returning our team to postseason contention? This is why I'd much prefer that Reinsdorf sell the damn team already. We need a whole new fresh approach. We really need a clean slate. 30 years of the approach under KW has clearly shown to be a failure, we can't meaningfully expect change without bringing in outside voices.
Looks like they are bringing over the entire canned royals front office too. Definitely the crew you would want to rebuild withFrom everything I've been reading, it's looking more and more like Reinsdorf will play it safe and go with Chris Getz as GM. …..Happy he actually did it but interested to see who he hires. If he promotes getz or goes crazy and puts TLR in the role it will be business as usual
Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss:
Chris Getz promoted to White Sox’ general manager
“He knows our players, both at the major league level and in our system, knows our staff and is familiar with all aspects of our baseball operations department,” chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said.chicago.suntimes.com
Two words:
What
Ever
Think I would have been fine with naming Getz as interim GM for the remainder of the season until a permanent candidate emerged. But just handing him the reins open ended like this makes it seem like he's the guy for the next X number of years, which I suspect will correlate with Reinsdorf finally kicking the bucket. We're so f*cking stupid it hurts. 2005 will be it boys. We die on that sports fan hill.
