Anyone watching this?

This may have supplanted Orville as the most “Star Trek” show currently going. I don’t think it compares with the second gen shows yet (TNG, DS9, Voy), but there is potential. It is certainly better than Disco and Picard, though. Probably better than Enterprise, right now.

The finale was a good episode, but it had some apparent timeline problems.

The event on the cadet vessel took place well after he left the Enterprise. But the events of this episode take place because Pike did not suffer his injuries and thus, did not step down as captain.

I will have to see if there are any theories to cover this.

I find Enterprise to be boring as shit.

This one has more of an original series feel, and I love it.

Enterprise was all over the place. It never really found itself and had a different format each season. It also abandoned the S1 overall arc after S1 and basically never went back to it after S1.

Right now, here is how I would rank the series’…

1) DS9
2) TNG
3) TOS
4) VGR
5) SNW
6) ENT
7) PIC
8) LD
9) TAS
10) DIS

I don’t watch Prodigy.

That finale was outstanding. What a great idea to re- imagine a classic original series episode from a different perspective.

S2 pilot was alright.

I like that they are diving back into Klingon culture. And using traditional Klingons (the ridge-less ”original” Klingons were explained in Enterprise, so the TNG look is the traditional look). I hope they somehow explain away the horrid redesign used in Discovery.

I liked Discovery but this series is closer to the original TV series TOS and TNG etc. It's worth seeing imo.
I gave up on Disco. It was unbearable.

But this show was solid in S1. Too early to say anything about S2 yet (I have not watched Ep2 yet)

There was one season in Discovery that was pretty bad but it picked significantly imo with Michelle Yeoh. She was just great. Overall I liked it. I'm waiting for Season 4 from the library..

I gave up in the most recent season (I think). I acknowledged how bad it was before, but I love ST so much, I was able to stomach this shitshow.

But I can only take so much rubbish…

I'll let you know I guess. Certain ST's take a while to gell. The TNG was pretty bad when it first started out and now many think it's the best ST. Discovery also took a while but I liked that a good deal when it ended. Maybe it was 7of9 ;)

Voyager was OK. Probably my 4th favorite title in the ST universe (DS9, TNG, TOS, Voyager). SNW right now is probably above Enterprise, which puts it at #5. Picard is probably still below Enterprise, though.

Like I said, though, Disco is pure trash.

See, I didn't like DS9 much at all. Too much Ferengi and I just find that species completely uninteresting and predictable. And the rest of cast was "ok."

TNG, TOS and Discovery would be my top 3 with Discovery, SNW and Enterprise (in no particular order here) following. I think Enterprise is better than many give it credit for.

Enterprise couldn’t get its footing. Every season was like an entirely different show.

S1 was primarily episodic, but they were planting seeds for a larger arc-story. They abandoned that entire story after S1, though.

S2 was pure episodic. They didn’t have any direction at all.

S3 was a shock, coming out of S2. It was PURE serial. There was a single story for the entire season. And unfortunately, the events depicted were never mentioned or alluded to by any property until they delved into #1’s back story in SNW S1. And even that connection was timid.

S4 was like old-school Doctor Who. A series of multi-episode arcs that were altimately just longer single episode. Looked at in that fashion, it was like a 7-episode season done episodically.

I get the sense they’re a new show runner each season. The format was so different each season.

Star Trek: The Musical

To be fair, I am just starting this episode, but OMG, it is painfully bad. So pretentious.

Yup.

Garbage.

Too bad. The Lower Decks crossover was a very good episode. Sad to see that followed up with a traditionally shark-jumping trope like this.

Since we get Paramount+ for free, I have been meaning to watch the "new" ST series. Picard, Discovery, Strange New Worlds, etc. This thread has been helpful.
