My whole point is the SEC is a different beast than the Conference they are leaving. And it's not like they are going to the East....they are going to the loaded West.Yeah, considering what they lost talent wise and that it was only 1 season...you may be a bit premature with that assessment. Just losing Caleb Williams was huge...add the other talent they lost, a new coaching staff with new schemes, etc. They were in a tough spot.
They finished 6-7, but 4 of their losses were by a field goal and another was by a touchdown. So, it's not like they weren't competitive.
All things considered; it could have been far worse.
Maybe give him a couple of recruiting classes and another season or 2 before deciding he's not good enough?
