Even when he was "cheap" they came up short because he didn't perform. Neither did the Cs as a team

Yeah. This code has always found ways to come up short

DAMN!

Tatum is eligible for an extension as well, along with Mitchell (although unlikely unless traded), Murray, Kawhi, George, AD, Giannis, Ingram, Anunoby, Markkanen, etc. Just wait, $70M will be broken soon enough.

Oh I have no doubt about that which is insane but that is the state we live in today

(1)What is the point of typing this?

In other news, the sky is blue.

:pound:

You gonna overly defend the refs again this season? They should never be held accountable for the in-game mistakes right?

1- Since you can't figure out on your own why I said that I'll gladly explain it to you.

Brown didn't deserve the biggest contract (so far) in league history.

If the current climate of the NBA drove this value for his new contract, he deserves it. More power to him. Biggest in history is temporary and meaningless really, much like the highest paid QB in the NFL. The next guy in a similar situation (previous contract value and supermax eligible) will leapfrog him. The NBA sets the rules and the players should benefit as allowed.

Yep. And it's gonna be interesting to see what Tatum gets. It'll be insane.

He was the most recent player to get a supermax.

The next guy will get even more.

That is how it works. Most recent supermax will always be the highest paid player in league history.

No need to list Jokic accolades to prove something that is totally obvious.

And why bring refs into this? Refs are held accountable. Just not in the public ways that some on here want.

1. Because of something you said to me last season. The funniest and most incorrect thing you've said on this site.

Remember telling me I got all my opinions of the refs from watching highlights? And when I told you I had NBA league pass you basically said that didn't matter. Sorry man I still get a great laugh outta that. So that's why I mentioned it.

And these contracts, not just in NBA, are the reason I can't afford a really good seat at any sporting event. Just kind of bummer to me. I grew up going to NBA and NFL games.

Even if you look at it as a % of the cap.

The Celtics will be having 2 players taking up 70% of their cap.

It’s going to be impossible to work with

Players fucked themselves with smoothing and the second apron

You only hurt so many mid market guys now for the sake of far less guys benefiting

OMG. This again?

Really?

You are impossible to talk to. So damn literal.

I don’t care about your personal opinion. Most people are skewed because of what they see in the media.

Officials were not picked apart like this 25 years ago. But they most definitely were not better than they are today.

It matters if it hinders a team contending because they can't sign other players
If they are giving one guy half the cap, they should not worry about it. These are birds rights so it does not completely handcuff a team. I just had Kane and Toews on equal contracts for our hawks, lets just see how Tatum handles it.

That's the cost of having 2 supermax players. The object is to level the playing field.

Celtics are right up against that second apron now. They're going to need to thin out their salaries before next season, as they are already projected to be almost $90M over the cap. Acquiring some 2nd round picks in those transactions would be good, since they only have 1 left through 2029. Going to need cheap depth players.

BTW, it's 47% this season, 61% next (when Brown's extension kicks in).

He's not going to be half the cap. By the time he gets to $69M, the cap is projected to be $208M, so he'll be 1/3.

Still my comment holds lol but I get what you mean

So because I made fun of you I'm impossible to talk to? Thanks for the laugh. Find a sense of humor. Maybe they sell them at the FN gift shop.

Bringing back old played out stuff is the lamest move ever.

Funny thing is, your opinion was wrong then.

Letting it go would be in your best interest.
