Another homerun for Wendzel today. That should get his OPS up close to .940-.950.

I was thinking he’s just trying to overload lefties against a righty. Leon sucks at hitting, but he’s like some kind of miracle worker with Jon grey behind the plate so I guess it’s worth it every 5th day.

I will say tho it seems like teams don’t sit their hitters against us very often.

Bochy really, really like Grossman.
Not that I really like Grossman but who would you have put in RF if the plan was to give Garcia and Duran the day off. Oh and Taveras too

We don't know that Gray wouldn't have been just as good during this stretch with Heim behind the plate. Leon is more like a good luck charm for those who believe in such things.

It is about much more than this one lineup.

If rest in conjunction with an off day is important, I wonder why Lowe hardly ever gets a day off. Are we setting him up to be worn out down the stretch?

Edward Colina pitched 1.2 innings in relief for Round Rock this afternoon. He only allowed 1 walk and struck out 2.

Scott Lucas had this to say about him a few days ago:

Edwar Colina has been a Ranger since October 2021, when Texas claimed him off waivers from Minnesota and later ran him successfully through waivers. Yesterday was his first appearance for the organization and first anywhere since 2020, which itself was limited to his brief MLB debut outing. He'd had elbow trouble (but not the TJ kind, apparently) when claimed, and since then... well, I don't even know. Every few months I checked to see if he was still under contract. Colina raced through the 9th on nine pitches, dealing a 93-94 fastball and 82-84 slider.

I've heard that Semien and Lowe are two guys who hate days off.

I think it's less about today and more about the other times he's put him in the lineup recently

he goes with his gut. He doesn’t consider what fans may think. And he’s been doing pretty good so far so I’ll trust his decision

Nothing will ever be as confusing to me as this board getting irritated with the manager's decisions on who plays when.

Whether it's Woodward when the team is in the cellar, or Bochy when this team has the best record after 60 games in franchise history. I mean, you have to go back 80 years to find a comp to the run differential the Rangers have in 2023.

It's like a kid bringing home a 97, and the parent asks "what happened to the other 3 points?"

It's nice just to enjoy the ride from time to time.

It is simply folks discussing the team. I don't think anyone would approach Bochy even if they had the opportunity and gripe at him about it, so it is much different than criticizing a kid about his school work. Most wouldn't have even done that to Wash. It is simply a part of discussing the team amongst ourselves.

There is nothing wrong with questioning decisions on a board like this, no matter if the team is on pace to win 70 or 110. We are all heavily invested as fans here.

I will never understand why that upsets or confuses some folks. I don't think any of us are related to anyone in the organization, so honest questions shouldn't be a problem. Now, if someone is just ridiculous in their criticism or they make very personal remarks, that is another thing entirely.

There were folks who left the board when the Rangers got bad because they could no longer handle the negative comments when the team was terrible. When the Rangers were winning they would call out every single poster who made any negative comments. I am glad they left, but I half way expect them to come back and have the same dismissive attitude toward anyone making the slightest negative comment.

We are all here because we enjoy discussing the Rangers and that will include a few negative items here and there.

As long as the negative aspects aren't the only things certain people ever bring up then it doesn't bother me.
