PAC 12 just needs to get a deal done. I doubt any PR stunts by the Big 12 are impacting the real decision makers. PAC 12 survival comes down to two things IMO:

1) Getting a media deal that's competitive with the ACC and Big 12.
2) Getting UO and UW to sign it and at least temporarily ending the Big Ten western expansion rumors.
Both Universities knows they'll be headed to the B10 soon. No point in signing a deal for less than what the B10 will offer.

You think it's a done deal? I think it's possible but I'm not sure it's inevitable. At least not in the immediate future.

I think it's closer than we think. Adding OU/UW helps out cutting down the travel for SC/UCLA and it lays claim to the west coast. I think they want to get ahead of the SEC as quickly as possible since they're gunning for FSU/Clemson with another possible 2 schools. It's all about the money and a smaller piece of that pie in the B10 is still better than whatever crap the Pac Commish comes up with.

Oregon and Washington aren't signing anything until they get a final decision from the Big Ten. Until then, it's a holding pattern IMO
Agree they are waiting on the Big 10 to get a commissioner and will bail if they get an invite leaving the rest of the conference dangling in the wind but I still don't see a good enough deal to keep the Pac 12 together

It depends. If UW and UO get turned away by the Big 10, I bet the PAC stays together. I think the corner 4 prefer to stay in the PAC and already know what the numbers would be if UO and UW sign (it doesn't take this long to get a media deal, clearly UO and UW are the problem right now). If the problem was really not enough money, I think teams would have bailed by now.

I don't think there is a deal and companies are pulling out

There's no deal because the PAC can't get all 10 members on board. Media companies are waiting to see what happens with UO and UW. Once the PAC can get all 10 members on board, negotiations will ramp up again.

The SEC isn't looking to expand beyond the Texas/Oklahoma additions. They really weren't looking to expand two years ago, either, until the Sooners & Longhorns came knocking; but that's an entire 'nother story. The Big 10 got desperate because there were no big targets available in the East/South/Midwest since ACC schools are locked down until 2036, so they went for the biggest market on the West coast, even though the expanded travel could be detrimental for all teams in the long run - especially the newcomers. The Big will need to take a year or two to integrate the Pac-ex teams into the overall scheduling before they recruit any more West coast members, but they will probably try to steal two to four more schools to ease the scheduling, if they can find a way to squeeze more money out of their television partners.

The SEC - and the rest of college football - will be laughing if this trans-coastal experiment blows up in a few years.

I don't think the SEC will immediately expand right now but I do think it'll come up once OU/Texas is about 5 years in or when new TV deal is up for negotiations. The B10 will add and you're right it'll probably be in a couple of years but that west coast pod would make life easier for schedule/travel.

I don’t know. I think UW is over. Unless last year was a fluke I can’t imagine how they would be under.

I don't think last year was a fluke. They have good talent. I just think the # is off. Based on their schedule, I believe the O/U should be 8.5

If the # were at 8.5, I would bet the over FWIW
