You like the trade?
It works for me. Zach sucks and they are no no position to draft a QB. But it's the Jets, they'll find a way to miss the playoffs.

as a jets fan, i am happy they did not totally fuck this up...

so, the bar was already set very low...

i am fine with all the 2023 draft parts... My problem is the conditional... if the purpose of conditional trades are to protect yourself... they did a very shitty job of doing that... very bad job.. what they are giving up in the successful part is not a big deal... and would be worth it if it was a good protection plan...

but this trade was needed for the jets... Saleh needs help... this should give it to him

Top of his position? He wasn’t that guy last year.
It was an iffy roster on a not-great team, caused in part by A.A.Ron's contract extension. We're not that long removed from when the guy was the MVP and a 13-3 season. That's what the Jets are thinking, anyway. They're now gambling the same way GB was last year. GB now fully enters rebuild for 1-2 years and the Jets make their run. It's more defensible than getting Brett Favre for a conditional=3rd rounder (traded to NE, which they used to select Brandon Tate, as part of a package to move up to select Clay Matthews). Of course, that was Tannenbaum and Rex Ryan, one of the dumber GM+HC pairings in the NFL in the last 40 years.

Totally agree. If they get two years and win a SB, big win. If they go deep in the playoffs both years that's okay. Anything short of that will be rough.

Zach will get his shot again probably in 2025 and maybe he'll be improved.
Heard on the radio today that Aaron will help Zack get his head on straight!

In the Twilight Zone maybe.....

Heck, I think the Packers did well for a 39-year-old QB who seems half-hearted about continuing his career. Yes, Seahawks fans are likely happier about the return they got for Wilson, but it's not apples to apples kind of comparison.
Yah! - but the Jets get a pie in the sky!

It could be a 2nd though, right?
They have a 1st and 2nd in this upcoming draft on Thur.....in '24 it will be a 2nd rounder if he plays in less than 65% if the snaps in the '23 season. 1st if he plays more than 65%.

If the NFL allows this then there won't be a salary cap prior to Week 1 of the regular season. Every team will rewrite the contract of every player with a guaranteed salary so the salary becomes minimum wage with the rest becoming an option bonus to be paid 'when convenient'. In effect it allows the trade of dead money which in turn negates the salary cap. Richer owners willing to pay more will dominate the league.
It might take a year but the league will have to take action.

There's no vomit emoji. I don't want any part of that freak. I don't care how good he is, which I think is still going to be determined.

I hated Favre until he threw a game winning TD on my 26th birthday. But I don't want to ever root for Rodgers, ever. He's scum. A literal piece of shit that has to have brain damage from the hits he has taken and the drugs he's taken.
