That guy single handedly destroyed the Big 3 Heat in that 2011 Finals, with a torn tendon in one hand. And they swept the defending champ Lakers in the Semis, beat Durant's and Westbrook's Thunder in the WCF. Who did he have on his team? Tyson Chandler? Stojakovic? Kidd? Still one of the most amazing runs I've ever seen.Yep. Forgot Dirk.
When you say I’m wrong I know I am right!Stop it.
Most of here talked about the downside risk for this team when it formed.
Super talented, super crazy and a lot of ego.
Had nothing to do with NY.
And they also totally prove your main point wrong that you claim stars don’t want to play in NY.
Wilt
Kareem
MJ
DWade (the first one)
Kobe (non Shaq one)
That’s just off the top of my head.
Dirk Nowitski is the best example I can think of
Most players have pieces added to their team to contend, they don't run away somewhere else. But you know this already. The Sixers added Moses. Dr. J didn't leave for the Celtics or Lakers. Lakers went out and added shaq to kobe. Kobe didn't runaway somewhere else. Jordan took the lowly Bulls to the top. Have you ever heard of Michael Jordan?
Are you really claiming now that Jordan piggybacked on scottie pippen and Dirk piggybacked on caron butler? Lol what a goofSo, you have no examples of anyone winning by themselves.
Ever heard of Scottie Pippen?
Oh my bad. I took you at face value when you used the term “piggyback”. These guys were all alphas in place and these pieces came later. They didn’t beg out and force a move off of their team. I should know better. Assume goalposts will be moved when convenient - check.Wilt - are you talking about the 1967 Sixers team with 3 other Hall of Famers on it, or the 1972 Lakers who also had 3 Hall of Famers?
Kareem - are you talking about the 1971 Bucks team that had 2 other Hall of Famers on it, or the 5 he won with Magic Johnson and the Showtime Lakers?
MJ - are you talking about the titles he won without Scottie Pippen, Rodman, etc.
DWade, so the one he won with Shaq, Alonzo Mourning, etc.
Kobe - So the ones with Pau Gasol, etc.
Big flex going on here everybody. Not sure if you are aware everybody, but apparently basketball games are played with each team putting 5 members on the court at a time. Additionally, they have reserves who sit on the bench and can be used to “substitute” for the starting players throughout the course of the game.Jason Kidd, Caron Butler Shawn Marion and Jason Terry had nothing to do with it?
You trying to prop up Caron Butler as some kind of superstar that Dirk piggy-backed off of???Jason Kidd, Caron Butler Shawn Marion and Jason Terry had nothing to do with it?
My ninjaDirk piggybacked on caron butler?
Yep. He threw out that hot take and ever since it’s been getting shot down like a clay pigeon. You trying to prop up Caron Butler as some kind of superstar that Dirk piggy-backed off of???

I mean, to be fair to Trojanfan, Jason Kidd is one of the greatest PGs in NBA history. But he never could carry a team himself and this was at the end of his career.Yep. He threw out that hot take and ever since it’s been getting shot down like a clay pigeon.

Some of the teams that Lebron took to the Finals, it was him and 7 dwarfs.
Jordan had some good players around him, but nobody else who could have been considered a superstar on any other team.
Eh...disagreeNot true.
Pippen was a top 4 MVP candidate his year without MJ and the Bulls were right there with the other contending teams.
Pippen was a superstar at his peak.
Eh...disagree
Wilt
Kareem

Immaterial. Kobe didn’t beg out and go ring chasing with some other franchise.Kobe had Pau and he's going to the HOF. He was traded to the Lakers during the '07-'08 season. The previous two seasons before the Lakers got Pau they got bounced in the 1st round of the playoffs. He became a Laker and they went to 3 straight Finals.
How about the Hakeem-led Rockets?
