Well if you think that Geno is getting 5 years 200 million then there isn't much point discussing this since we see things very differently.
But you won't trust them to deal with Geno the way they want to? You either trust them or you don't...I'll trust Pete and John to make that decision. So many to scout . The draft guru's have some tiers I feel.
Didn't you also say that you think that Geno shouldn't get more than 10 million AAV?Where did I quote that contract? I stated on several occasions what I think Geno will eventually get.
Haener? I thought you didn't like him... You said he was too small and not that mobile when I brought it up before Christmas... He's been my favorite QB for the value of where he would be drafted... I've always said that I feel he'll perform in the top 5 when the careers are said and done among the 2023 draft class..I'll trust Pete and John to make that decision. So many to scout . The draft guru's have some tiers I feel.
Tier 1) Young, Stroug, Levis
Tier 2) Richardson, McKee, Hooker
Tier 3) Duggan Haener
Tier 4) mostly I don't know about but McCall maybe? I'm sure we will hear some names as the draft gets closer
Just for better odds I rather they go tier 1, the later they wait the longer the odds of hitting. Mostly I just want them to draft a QB they feel can be potentially the QB of the future.
I have plenty of trust in them, but that's not to say they haven't made mistakes like trading for Adams. But you won't trust them to deal with Geno the way they want to? You either trust them or you don't...
I feel he's more of a game manager type and is smaller than ideal, but the draft gurus I feel have him in that tier 3 group for now. We will be hearing of QBs we are not familiar with as the draft gets closer. I figure tier 3 will get more crowed.Haener? I thought you didn't like him... OK... Take out Namath... Since 1980, there have been a total of 53 different QB's that have started in the Superbowl... So from my list, there are 20 QB's... 20 of the 53 QB's were not great QB's... 38% of the QB's...You go clear back to Joe Namath LOL. How many off those were going on 33 years of age while playing well? I'm amazed at recency bias swaying everyone over a decade track record. Tell me @Anointed One what were your thoughts on Geno at this time last year, you had years and years of track record to judge him on. How many QBs bloomed at 32 and many sustained that longer than a season? If Geno goes back to vintage Geno how do the Seahawks recover having gave him a jackpot of money. Where do they turn if they don't have a promising rookie in waiting and having committed serious money to Geno? I know you don't care for any of the QBs in this draft, but did you think Herbert would be good? How about Mahomes or Allen? How about we go back clear to Rodgers, did you think he would be good? How often did you nail a elite QB before they were drafted?
What I'm sure of is Geno won't repeat 2022 season, won't come close. If the Seahawks do what others here are suggesting-- committing to him $$$$ and punting at QB in the draft it will be the second biggest mistake in Pete and John time with the Seahawks, only surpass by the whole Jamal Adams decisions. I get depressed just thinking about it.
I like him for his leadership and toughness... I don't think he'll be a top tier QB but I think he could be a solid starter... Seems like he's a Pete Carroll type of QB...I feel he's more of a game manager type and is smaller than ideal, but the draft gurus I feel have him in that tier 3 group for now. We will be hearing of QBs we are not familiar with as the draft gets closer. I figure tier 3 will get more crowed.
Nick Foles got paid big for his one year fluke, he is an example of why the Seahawks shouldn't fall into the same trap. Dilfer was let go after winning the SB. An example of making the right decision by the Ravens. Just imagine if that Bears team had a real QB instead of Rex Grossman. Flacco hit the jack pot when he had that playoff run, we all know the Ravens ended up regretting paying him all that coin.Having Jimmy G. didn't stop the 49ers from making a expensive move for a QB because they knew they needed a better one than Jimmy. I could go on but think you get the point.OK... Take out Namath... Since 1980, there have been a total of 53 different QB's that have started in the Superbowl... I honestly didn't see what you said Geno will get. So what do you think it will be?
No, I said that i'd rather he make 10 AAV than 30 AAV, but I didn't say that's what I thought he'd get. I think it'll be around 3 years 105 million and 45-50 million guaranteed in some form or another.
I think it will end up being close to that, but I think it will be a 5 year deal with 2 dummy years at the end to spread out the SB.No, I said that i'd rather he make 10 AAV than 30 AAV, but I didn't say that's what I thought he'd get. Only way I’d be happy with the 5th pick being a QB is if he was an absolute stud prospect, not really seeing those this year… I would bet just like last year some of these top qb prospects drop down the draft board and then maybe we can consider nabbing one … But I would seriously be happy with all 4 of our top picks being defense, it’s such a glaring painful need for us …Why not sign Payne to address the run defense, than draft a highly regarded QB in the draft with pick 5? Cheaper and more bang for your buck. Then you still got a first , 2 seconds, then the other picks to fill holes.

What? you think the top QBs in this draft are going to fall like last years crop of QBs in the 2022 draft? That's not happening.Only way I’d be happy with the 5th pick being a QB is if he was an absolute stud prospect, not really seeing those this year… I would bet just like last year some of these top qb prospects drop down the draft board and then maybe we can consider nabbing one … But I would seriously be happy with all 4 of our top picks being defense, it’s such a glaring painful need for us …
I’m guessing, but last year surprised how some fell … Combine will change some thingsWhat? you think the top QBs in this draft are going to fall like last years crop of QBs in the 2022 draft? That's not happening.
Last year crop of QBs was one of the worse for a decade, this years crop is much much better.Heck 3 will be top 10 maybe top 5.I’m guessing, but last year surprised how some fell … Combine will change some things
We’ll see, combine always changes things…Last year crop of QBs was one of the worse for a decade, this years crop is much much better.Heck 3 will be top 10 maybe top 5.
