All you guys post stuff defending Draymond or minimizing his bad behavior, but none of you guys want him on your team. Man, fuck you guys! Take him from us, please! LOL. If he does get on the Lakers, just keep him away from the young guys.

Yes, let Draymond be a bully.

In a manner of speaking, yes.

Cowherd made a great point about this today...

Teams, especially veteran championship teams, can get complacent after a title. So, if they want to extend their run, maybe go back to back, they need a guy who will get in everyone's face, hold them accountable and not let them get complacent. That is part of Draymonds role on this team.

Ideally, that comes from your star player ala MJ and Kobe who each punched teammates and were just relentless on their teammates no matter how well the team was doing. While he is a great leader in many ways, Steph is not that guy, hence the need for Draymond.

When other Warriors fans talk about Drays importance to the team being more than his stats, this role is part of what they are talking about. This isn't the Warriors team from the first run where they were just better than everybody by a wide margin. This team is older, has a lot of wear and tear and isn't head and shoulders better anymore. They need him in this role more than ever.

I think that's part of why the Lakers brought in Pat Bev. It wasn't just Westbrooks poor fit or Lebron and AD's injuries that kept the Lakers out of the playoffs last year. They often played with no energy. Even after Lebron came back. I think that besides filling a need as far as defense and shooting...he's also there to fill the "team asshole" role and get in everyone's face, including Lebron and AD when needed.

Nice!

Are Laker fans hoping to land Draymond some time in the future? I'm curious to know how much other NBA fans want Draymond to be on their team.

Maybe not Draymond specifically.

But why do you think they brought in Pat Bev?

Maybe that's a reason to bring in Pat Bev, but isn't LeBron enough for that role? He's one of the GOATs and he has no problem getting into people's faces.

Maybe Pat Bev over Draymond because his punches will do less damage??? Plus, Pat Bev can hit a 3-point shot. And he'll either get Westbrook in proper form or he'll push Westbrook out.

I'm hoping the Lakers brought in PatBev for no other reason than to fuck with Westbrook. It would make things funny.

Looked good for sure.

Glad to see the Cavs starters without Mobley outplay them for a half for whatever that means. Better to play well than not.

If @WiggyRuss or @Shanemansj13 watched sure seems like Levert will be better suited coming off the bench. Not that he looked bad and appreciated he did not force anything (not even sure he took a shot with the starters) but almost like we'd be wasting his talent having him start with them. Will play some with them so, as mentioned, was good to see him not force anything.
I watched most of it. I wouldn’t be opposed to Dean Wade starting honestly. He is more of a stretch 4 though but decent athleticism.

Lebron wasn't enough last year.

Plus, he cares about his image and wants people to like him. Guys like Dray and Pat Bev don't care if you like them.

He'll occasionally get in a guys face, but he's more of the Steph type of leader.

I've been playing fantasy basketball for the last 3 years. At one point, Dean Wade had PG eligibility in fantasy leagues. I picked him up one time because of that and his ability to get stats across the board, including 3 pointers.

I think it will be Okoro but Wade could make sense if they want someone more like LM (and a stretch 4).

I do think we'll see some of Love with the other big guys....but not to start.

Warriors got so many vets. They don't need someone to be a bully and assaulting people. Excusing and/or minimizing bad behavior is wrong. And Draymond happens to have bad behavior all the time, and now he has escalated to punching a teammate. Steph, Klay, Andre, and Draymond (when he is not bullying people) do a great job of talking to and leading their teammates. I'm certain that the Warriors would have great leadership with or without Draymond. There is no reason to believe otherwise.

It is semantics.

I had a long back and forth with @Mecca on this concept about Dennis Rodman. I claimed he was a role player and she didn’t agree.

Thing is, Draymond excels in a lot more areas than Rodman did. Rodman was like the ultimate specialist. That to me is a role player.

If you want to call Draymond a role player in that same vain, I won’t argue.

But if he is a role player, he is one of the greatest role players of all time. Right in that conversation with Rodman.

And IMO, that might be where both players belong.
so both Draymond and McCaw are role players. lol.

Two preseason games and yes it’s just preseason but Tyrese Maxey looks like he added to his game yet again. Dude has been the best player on the floor and he’s been on the floor with Embiid Harden Durant Kyrie Simmons Garland and Mitchell. Fucking love my guy.
with a little luck he might even become a poor man's Garland!

No one will give him that level of credit. Maxey is already a better shooter. People will point to Embiid and Harden and say Garland gets the top assignment of the defense. I would say if you give Maxey the green light and encourage him to shoot 20-25 times a game he’s already just as good. He out played him head to head last night.

Maxey is smooth and skilled. I like him. He only lacks experience and ideal size. He can be a good player for years.

Calipari called him the most offensively gifted and instinctive player he’s ever had. Cal has had some good ones. Coach’s kid and gym rat. Turned himself from a 28% 3 pt shooter to a 40%+ 3 pt shooter.
