Yep. The only way the Lakers can hope to get close enough to get a shot at drafting Wembanyama is the following has to occur: One, they have to secure a 2023 First Round pick from somebody else for say an AD trade. The Lakers do have their own 2023 First Round Pick but it can't be traded and it must be swapped with New Orleans if the Pels choose to swap this year by virtue of the Lakers having the better draft position. With the swap, the Lakers will fall where the Pels (better record) select in the draft in the First Round;

Two, that trade-partner team has to be a lottery-eligible pick/team-either by bad record or the play-in route;

Three, all the lottery balls have to fall in place for the Lakers to either be the Number One or Number Two selector.

If that all falls into place, then the Lakers will have a chance at drafting Wembanyama. That's a lot of ifs and the Lakers would be extremely lucky if it happens that way.

Translation = The Lakers will be looking to sign him as an FA in a few years. lol

195 should be smarter than to get into it with 240.

Or 240 should control himself. Easier fix. But of course, it's impossible for Draymond to ever have good judgment and self-control.

240 vs 195

Funny story along those lines:

I've shared before that my son is training to be an MMA fighter. My son is 6'4" 185. His height gives him an advantage in his weight class, His trainer is a current heavyweight in the UFC. The other day they brought in a guy who is a purple belt in jiu jitsu and is 6'4" 300 to work with everyone. My sons jiu jitsu is pretty strong, but this guy gets him in a hold where he has him flattened out on his stomach (can't remember what the move is called). When that happened my son was supposed to use some counters to get out of it.

He says..."I literally could not move".

I said... "And that's why they have weight divisions instead of height divisions". lol

Just being like Mike...

Lotta callers on talk radio are with you though, calling for his head. Just another hot take, we'll be on to something else in a month

MJ did a lot of things that were wrong. No reasonable person would say otherwise. Also, MJ was MJ, so of course, people put up with his shit.

Should the Warriors put up with the shit from an aging, declining player? If Kerr hadn't benched Draymond in Game 4 of the Finals, it's very unlikely that the Warriors would've won the Finals. He played poorly for most of the playoffs and the Finals.

You're right, this story will fade away, but what doesn't fade away is Draymond's bad behavior. He's been doing it for years. He never learns, and now he's even escalated his bad behavior to punching a teammate. Something will happen again in the future.

2 teammates fought during training camp.

In other news, water is wet.

If this were a one time or rare example of Draymond being out of control, then it's no big deal.

Or, don't poke a bigger bear.

Yes, let Draymond be a bully. Would Draymond have thrown a punch if it were say someone like David West or Zaza Pachulia?

Let's not make excuses for Dray here. I don't care what Poole said or how he acted. You don't put hands on your colleague/teammate unless he put hands on you first. Very simple

Show me where I made excuses for Draymond?

I didn’t do that.

All I said is that Poole’s behavior could end up being a problem if reports about him coming in with a different attitude from last year are true.

I’m gonna need to see more before I entertain that. That has media savvy Draymond trying to get out ahead of this written all over it. This has his fingerprints all over it. He’s turning him being a bitch and losing his cool into he’s being a good teammate in an unorthodox way in holding another teammate accountable.

Not really. MJ is a legend and Draymond carries a lunch pail like a grinder role player.

In other words…

What MJ did was arguably worse because there was a greater imbalance of power between the two players.

Maybe. Or someone at his level as a player gets more latitude than Green does.

Maybe.

And in no way at I excusing Draymond’s behavior. In fact, I very clearly said he was wrong in the first line of my post.

That is clear and obvious.

Poole might be wrong too. Let’s give it some time and see how it plays out.

If the 2 men are able move on and reconcile, it might not even be a negative thing long term.

Dray has had plenty of time. He always seems to be involved in this stuff. We can play wait and see on Poole’s role though. He doesn’t have the same established track record.

Two preseason games and yes it’s just preseason but Tyrese Maxey looks like he added to his game yet again. Dude has been the best player on the floor and he’s been on the floor with Embiid Harden Durant Kyrie Simmons Garland and Mitchell. Fucking love my guy.
Looked good for sure.

Glad to see the Cavs starters without Mobley outplay them for a half for whatever that means. Better to play well than not.

If @WiggyRuss or @Shanemansj13 watched sure seems like Levert will be better suited coming off the bench. Not that he looked bad and appreciated he did not force anything (not even sure he took a shot with the starters) but almost like we'd be wasting his talent having him start with them. Will play some with them so, as mentioned, was good to see him not force anything.
