Agreed, role players are important. And if Draymond was one he'd be too. But he's more than that.Oh I agree role players are important. You need a guy like that who just doesn’t want shots because he just can’t make shots placed around the Splash Bros and KD. A lot of Robert Horry teams wouldn’t have won without him either. Role players are very important. And also…they’re role players.
I posted that here at the time, I wouldn't want it every year but it was kind of cool with just the players, no fans, so they were locked in on each other not playing to the crowd. There was also a lot less bullshit yakking at the refs, much more civil because it was quieter and you didn't have fans going nuts after a call.
Draymond hit like a bitch is now confirmed. This is the bad guy i was told i should be afraid of lol
I really hope that Draymond is gone sooner rather than later. Here is yet another example of his bad behavior.
That sums up my point of view. He’s a hall of fame level role player. At the same time, he’s a role player. He can do a ton of things on the court but he can’t shoot and he can’t score. Even great players that couldn’t shoot could still score. I’m thinking of guys like J Kidd and Magic. Couldn’t shoot but when needed they could definitely score. Some defenses don’t even cover him. I wish I had a dollar for every time I was watching a Warriors game and the defense isn’t even covering him. There he is 15-25 ft away from the basket with the ball in his hands and there isn’t a defender within 10-15 feet from him.It is semantics.
I had a long back and forth with @Mecca on this concept about Dennis Rodman. I claimed he was a role player and she didn’t agree.
Thing is, Draymond excels in a lot more areas than Rodman did. Rodman was like the ultimate specialist. That to me is a role player.
If you want to call Draymond a role player in that same vain, I won’t argue.
But if he is a role player, he is one of the greatest role players of all time. Right in that conversation with Rodman.
And IMO, that might be where both players belong.

I know you are a Draymond hater, and he is obviously very wrong here.
But don’t be too quick to overlook Poole’s role in this.
He is a young player looking to get his bag. If he is not embracing his role in the team concept, it could be very problematic for the Warriors in their bid to repeat.
Two preseason games and yes it’s just preseason but Tyrese Maxey looks like he added to his game yet again. Dude has been the best player on the floor and he’s been on the floor with Embiid Harden Durant Kyrie Simmons Garland and Mitchell. Fucking love my guy.
And on some nights based on matchups he should be the 4th. Other nights he could be the 2nd. If they’re smart, they have 4 guys that can exploit a match up on any given night. They can’t fall in love with a PPG slot. The value in having 4 dudes who can get you 20-30 is you take when the opponent presents and play through that. That could be Harden pick and roll. That could be feeding the post. That could be Maxey to the rim. That could be Toby Harris vs a mouse in the house. Doc better be up to the task.Harden is now the 3rd option
The Lakers don't have their '23 draft pick.
Strangely enough I do have a feeling that the league could pull some shenanigans with this kid. I watched the Donaghy game fixing documentary last night, that one will definitely leave you knowing the nba will do some shady shit.
And they can't trade up into it either....Technically they do, but the Pels have the right to swap. So, no tank.
It is semantics.
