We don't know if the move was stupid or not either. As of now...yea.. not the best. But if he comes back (even a year later) and takes the team to the next level then it was worth it professionally. I would still much rather be debating Baker than talking about deshaun watson but they decided what they decided

The piling on on here is what is... interesting. Like I've said a few times in the original thread there wasn't this level of venom thrown out there. It's weird to me those that take some kind of weird attraction to blasting the Browns.

It is a passionate fanbase that despite having their team stolen from them and years of losing still show up and represent. Yet you have douche bags talking about dissolving them yet root for a franchise that has had to move 4 times.

You all have stated your position... especially you. Not sure what you're getting from this dialog.
enjoy your new QB:suds:

Cowboy fans feel you and it has much to do with the fan comments posted here.

The problem here is dtgold.

Do you even math bro?
In fact, I do....I realized this would go over the head of many. This will be tough for some here, but here goes...

He claimed he is being paid about 50% of the minimum salary when, in fact, he is getting 66.7% ......50% is about 74% of 67% (or 50 is about 74% of 67)

I said closer to 90% because 67% is close to 74% of 90% (or 67 is close to 74% of 90)

you're welcome.

I'm chomping at the bit awaiting his statistical waffle spin on this one.
here ya go....

Never mind when the Browns signed watson there was not yet a suspension so he was getting the full minimum base.

you're welcome.

admittedly, when I wrote it I kind of figured there would be a few like you who who would get confused.

You probably think 75% is 25% more than 50%.
Where are you pulling 75% from?

I'd say 66% is much closer to 1/2 than the 100% all the others you keep talking about got from the Browns.

Stop the lying and admit you are wrong on the whole DW contract discussion.

The 75% I mentioned was just a math question (had nothing to do with this post so far).

"Much closer"? Not sure I'd say much closer as 50 is about 74% of 67. 67 is obviously 67% of 100. However, I said 90% and 67 is about 74% of 90 (nearly the same as 50 to 67) so my statement that was questioned was correct.

again....not that I think any of the 3-4 who questioned it would own their error.

what, exactly, am I wrong about? there was no suspension at time deal was signed so Browns were paying Watson the full minimum base in year 1 (as you and many others had mentioned he was owed about a mil in previous comments).

In essence, you are lying by saying I lied. well done.

Again, where does the 74%

Facts are DW salary for year 1 is $690.000, 66666666.7% if the league minimum round it up to 67% if you feel it helps you.

All the others you mentioned got $1,035.000, 100% of the league minimum.

The contract the Browns agreed to protected all but .03% of DW's money.

You keep saying others are lying for an opinion they state, but it is you lying, given the facts that are presented.

good luck with that:suds:

In 2022, Watson will earn a base salary of $690,000 and a signing bonus of $44,965,000, while carrying a cap hit of $9,683,000 and a dead cap value of $230,000,000.

not sure if last year counts so he has at least 4 years which is 1.035 mil

now do the math lol:suds:

Ill will agree with DT that 67% is closer to 74 or 75% than it is the nearly 50%

That guy can sure spin it.

If you could read you would see where the 74% comes in. Once again, 50 is around 74% of 67. Not half as many are trying to say.

Watson also GOT 1.035 mil in the deal he signed. It was reduced when he was suspended. To say otherwise, if you choose to, would be a lie. In addition, to say his current base is half of 1.035 mil is also a lie as it is 66.7% of that amount.

what spin? Everything I said is a fact. 67 to 90 is about the same % as 50 to 67......and when watson signed his deal it was for the full minimum base. It didn't get reduced until he was - for now - suspended for 6 games, which just so happens to be 33% of an 18 game season which is the amount he lost from his salary. Go figure.

What really happened here? a few saw Watson's deal was less than the minimum and they wet their pants thinking that was the deal the Browns signed them to.....but it wasn't.

Hell, truth be told, when I saw it I wondered what happened as I knew his deal was for 1.035 mil when signed as many here and in the media have mentioned (as did Spotrac in their site). I was able to think, though, and figure out why it changed. It was not the Browns' doing.

If you could read, what does 74 have to do with 67 and 100?

You're pulling 74/75 out of your ass.

I'll admit I didn't do math when is said "NEARLY 50%" but I knew just by looking I didn't need a calculator to see it was closer to 50 vs 100.

What spin?

How about 74/75, and now 90?

Keep in spinning.
