Especially considering who the Lakers gave away in order to keep him. Caruso is the definition of high quality role player.

Gotcha. So my Eagles drafted JJ Arciega Whiteside a few years back and passed on DK Metcalf. JJAW gets killed for that because he has been a poor WR. But last year he started to make some plays on special teams. Is that small level improvement he experienced considered upside?

He’ll probably stay healthy now that they would have him playing more in the post.

Well THT has 3 years under his belt. I would venture to say he will play better on another team just like other young guys that left LA and seemed to improve.

Starting to remind me of Bosh. Bosh played on the block more in Toronto and mid-range. He started taking more 3's like AD. AD should thrive on the block or his little jab step unblockable mid-range jumper

You framed that by mentioning Metcalf. That is on the Eagles front office, not JJAW. I wouldn't expect special teams improvement to be a perceived upside for an early-drafted WR; they don't typically play WR at all.

THT was a traits-based upside 2nd round pick. He has shown flashes, but not the consistency needed. A consistent, appropriate role would help in that regard, and he may not get that with the Lakers.
