And Disco is going under the knife. I assume that means a 60-day stint, but could that mean the season as well?

No word yet, but I expect Disco to the 60 to account for the 40-slot and either Hjelli or Marte down to account for the 26-slot.
Marte has been sent down. No word on the 40 man spot but I suspect Estrada is on the COVID IL, which creates, temporarily, a 40 man roster spot. DeSclafani, as you suggest, going to the 60 day IL will allow Estrada to be activated in a few days. I would guess Villar gets optioned when that happens. No word yet, but I expect Disco to the 60 to account for the 40-slot and either Hjelli or Marte down to account for the 26-slot.
Since Hjelli is the better prospect, with the better chance to help the Giants, I expect him to be sent down.
Both Marte and Hjelli were sent down. Llovera joins Villar coming up.Marte has been sent down. I've noticed most guys going down from COVID activations are going through waivers now. Not sure if the rule has changed, rules were improperly applied before or are being improperly applied now. Both Marte and Hjelli were sent down. Llovera joins Villar coming up.
Good point re Estrada and the Covid IL. Villar is probably on the 40 villa that free add rule. He could be removed from the 40 when Estrada comes back.
Sounds like Bart is on the travel squad. And just as I posted that…
Official…
Walton down
Crawford activated
Casalli to the 15-day
Alvarez activated.
No Bart. Mercedes is presumably the backup catcher to Wynns.
That would make sense. He is with the team, just not activated. Not sure why they would do that. Don’t they want Bart getting ABs?Sounds like Bart is on the travel squad.

This is the same org that optioned him to AAA so that the RiverCats could assume him to the development list, which meant a week in Arizona not playing real baseball. That would make sense. He is with the team, just not activated. Not sure why they would do that. Don’t they want Bart getting ABs?
I was OK with that, on the surface. He needed a breather and they are apparently tearing his mechanics down to the nuts and bolts. Best to do that in a “lab” environment, imho. This is the same org that optioned him to AAA so that the RiverCats could assume him to the development list, which meant a week in Arizona not playing real baseball.
But placing him on the travel squad instead of either keeping him playing regularly at AAA or calling him up to the big league roster? That seems rather short sighted. Why not put Pereda on the travel squad (assuming they can still do that with guys outside the 40 man roster)? If Bart isn't ready for a return to the big club, leave him in AAA. If he is ready, don't just sit him in limbo.I was OK with that, on the surface. He needed a breather and they are apparently tearing his mechanics down to the nuts and bolts. I agree 100%. Putting him on the taxi squad looks to be the worst of all options. He needs to playing. He had his week off, now get to work, young buck! Either take ABs for Sacto or take ABs for SF. Following around like a puppy doing nothing but pissing on the carpet is pointless. But placing him on the travel squad instead of either keeping him playing regularly at AAA or calling him up to the big league roster? If he was DFA’d, and had not cleared yet, than he has to be placed on the 40. That isn’t an issue YET as Disco can just be placed on the 60. But that causes an issue when Estrada comes back.Oh yay, we've acquired yet another pitcher get the crap knocked out of his pitches on a regular basis in AAA . . .
