Looks like still has his full set of 3 options.

While is having a HORRIBLE season, his history actually doesn’t look that bad, and he is only 23. I kinda like this add, on the surface.
He is young, I'll give you that. But his numbers aren't that good. Seems like another churn pick that will be dfa'd within 2 weeks.

The whole thing is strange. He's suddenly injured and about 10 days after his "injury" he needs to go on a rehab assignment. He pitches a couple of frames with Sacramento and gets activated, only to be placed back on the IL a few days later. This FO does odd things.

Just peaked at the Rivercats roster, and every pitcher that pitched tonight has an ERA over 6.50, except for Castro, who is walking 8.6 per 9 innings.

A lot of fine options at AAA. Even my favorite, Ruotolo, has been lit up (and he started the season so well). These days, a pitcher with a low 5 ERA is considered half way good.

Thairo Estrada is back from the Covid IL. Tommy La Stella has a headache and sore throat and was placed on the Covid IL. La Stella was tested and Gabe Kapler said he couldn’t disclose TLS’s status before securing his permission.

His MLB numbers are bad, but his minor league numbers look OK. And he was a 4th rounder, so he comes with some pedigree. This is the kind of churn I LIKE.

They can dfa but they cannot do an outright assignment at the end of it. They can only release the player if no one claims him.
That seems counter productive. I thought they wanted injured players to be rehabbed on the team dime. That rule seems to incentivize teams tossing them to the curb.

McGee was only making 2.5m this season and he had a .5m buyout on his option.

I don’t know exactly how the contracts are distributed, but since we just finished #82, let’s Mae the maths easy.

this DFA only cost the club 1.75m in sunk cost. Not enough to even notice, really.

Isan Diaz in the clubhouse.

Hope Craw is ok.
As of right now, he is only on Taxi Squad. If that were to change, I would guess Walton would be DFA’d and probably Marte sent down.

Walton's advantage over Diaz is that Walton has played shortstop at AAA. Diaz has not (unless he just started doing so this past week).
