I think school is still out. I want to see Harden with a summer where one of two things could happen:
1. He finally gets the cranky hamstring addressed if that is what is holding him back
2. He gets in the lab and he adds to his game this summer so that he can be 20 and 10 and a supporting guy to Embiid and Maxey.

I would prefer number 2 because that means he’s found a fit and it isn’t demanding a max salary fit. I would love for him to be the guy above and would pay him 4/100 million to close out on Embiid’s career.

And if he’s still James Harden, the dude that projects to sending I Don’t Care Vibes like 2 2nd half shots in an elimination game then he is going to be easy to get away from after this season. Need one more season to judge this trade from the Philly standpoint.
He ain't going for that or a CP deal IMO. He gonna want the bag even if it means going to another and a losing team.

I agree. That hammy heals and he could get his explosion back.

God Bless him then. I don’t see anybody giving him the max.

Might be best if Harden goes to a losing team. He could get his money, stats and the team gets a name guy to sell tickets.

Well....if he left after next season ....you could go out and add some depth and roll with Embiid, Maxey, And Harris as your big 3. Maxey looks like he be a great 2nd option to Joel.

Why would he do that? He forced his way out of a losing situation in Houston. I think he realizes Philly is a good situation for him AND they will pay him bc of Morey. There isn’t a more ideal situation for him

I think it's in doubt if they pay him if he doesn't improve upon his play with a better hammy.

If this is him going forward? You pay somebody over 200 mill to be a 3rd option as a glorified PG?

Morey does that and he could be out of a job within a year or so of him approving that.

The best chance the Sixers have to become championship level lies with the career arc of Tyrese Maxey. Part of what he needs to add is on the defensive end. He’s only 6’3’’ and he’s going to struggle with some covers but he needs to find a way to make his speed impact the game at that end.

Then the Sixers need to use the midlevel, Thybulle and picks to find a 3 and D wing and an athletic 4 that can rebound, play defense and doesn’t need a ton of shots. This is that bulldog Embiid was talking about when he was praising PJ Tucker in his post game 6 interview.

Trade Thybulle?

Yeah I think people forget that guys like Morey don’t become who they are just making bad business decisions. I think the Morey factor will be there in them resigning him at all. But dude shouldn’t come close to a max.

Unless he rebounds next season....I am just playing devil's advocate today

I think he will. Maybe not prime Houston Harden but regains his burst and is 85-90% of that guy.

Trade Thybulle?
They have to get better and to do that you have to give up assets. Who else can you argue is an asset to help them add pieces? Thybulle hasn’t added offensive game. He was like 22/23 when he was drafted. If he was going to be that guy, he would have figured that out already. He presents the same half court playoff issue Ben Simmons did. You don’t have to guard him. You take your worst defender and hide him on Thybulle or you take your roving guy like Bucks did with Giannis and you can double off him on anything that presents.

But league GMs aren’t dummies. They see that too. I don’t know what you can get for him.

I would rather him accept the fact that he doesn’t have that burst and put a shit ton of Rip Hamilton video on. Dude was the king of the mid range game. Some guys have mid range game and some guys have like a unique mid range game of 3 levels of mid range . That was RIP. Harden needs to work in that midrange game and it makes his ability to get to the hole better and the room he gets on step back better.

I guess we will find out. Wonder if he would accept a 3 year, team option on the 3rd year. Kinda doubting it. This is long-term or nothing…we will see. Maybe Philly gets creative

Package Harris and Thybulle. Green is getting old. Not sure what you can get for that package or Thybulle alone though, that’s the issue but as long as the fit is better…it doesn’t matter if they downgrade. In today’s NBA if you have a great defender like Thybulle he either better have a 3 point shot or it better be a big man. The Cavs could have the same issue with Okoro if he doesn’t see more improvement this year.

I think it's cool that the league now has the Larry Bird EC Finals MVP and the Magic WC Finals MVP awards.
