Damn, Harris's QB pressure rate % seems awful low. Not the number of pressures. The entire team sans Harris was deplorable.

That pick would be more Millenish than the Mike Williams pick or either or the top 10 TE picks.
Safety position is garbage. We traded our pro-bowl safety to the Seahawks and they were dog shit last year.
Safeties are not important at all. Sure you can't have one blowing coverage left and right but there are always solid safeties to be found in later rounds.

Safeties are definitely important if you have the worst linebacking corps in the league.

Jeebus, you cannot make this kind of shit up out of nowhere.

Will Harris has a new position.

“He’s a cafety,” Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell joked Thursday. “Yeah, he’s a hybrid. He really is. He’s a jack of all trades.”

Harris finished last season as the Lions’ No. 1 cornerback, after Amani Oruwariye underwent surgery for a broken thumb. And though he allowed a career-high 73.4% completion percentage and five touchdowns, according to Pro Football Reference, he gave the Lions’ depleted secondary valuable reps and endeared himself to coaches in the process.

Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn compared Harris last season to longtime Saints defensive back P.J. Williams last winter, and Campbell said Thursday “part of his strength is his versatility.”

“That’s one of his greatest attributes, which we came to find out last year,” Campbell said. “I mean, we wouldn’t have known that. You guys heard me talk about it. We would have not known that had we not had the injuries and COVID and everything else. So I think he’s a jack of all trades.”

Campbell said the Lions still are deciding how to deploy Harris when formal offseason workouts start later this month.

I instantly lose some respect towards DC and Glenn when making comments like in the above article.

Harris and Anzalone are massive blindspots for this regime.

At this point Harris could bang Campbells wife in front of him and he would wax poetic about his hustle in there.

Looking at per position looks like only Jonah ranks low. I think Sewell ranking is wrong however.

The guy who wrote this stated he was a little harsh regarding rookies and how they'd transition to year two.

Breaking the grades down a little further, Sewell’s four highest-scoring games came at right tackle, while his three worst were on the left side. He allowed four of his five sacks and 17 of his 22 QB pressures in the eight games at left tackle, too. Meanwhile, Decker ranked No. 3 in pass protection grades amongst left tackles in his nine games.

The rushing offense further shows the positive impact of Sewell at right tackle. In his eight starts at left tackle, Detroit averaged 93.1 yards per game on the ground. When Sewell started at right tackle, the Lions posted 130.3 per game on the ground. That’s almost 40 more rushing yards per game with Sewell on the right side!

I am hoping we can grab one of those as well but the kid from Utah will be long gone by our pick.
He looks like the only one in the draft that could have an immediate impact for us at linebacker.

The Detroit Lions are taking a close look at Oregon EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux ahead of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Detroit holds the No. 2 overall pick and has had a number of top players mocked to them in recent weeks. The Lions reportedly sent seven of the personnel members to Oregon's pro day to scout Thibodeaux last week, and are in need of an upgrade at the EDGE position. Head coach Dan Campbell said of Thibodeaux "When you're picking where we're picking - anytime really - you want to know, man, you're really checking all the boxes. And I think as much exposure as you can get, the better off you are, you know?" A franchise as starved for success as the Lions can ill afford to botch their two first round picks they hold in this year's draft, making these in depth processes all the more necessary.

Oregon EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux has received the second-highest PFF grade amongst Pac-12 EDGE rushers since 2014.

Thibodeaux'x (6'5/250) grade of 87.8 ranks behind UCLA's Takkaris McKinley's grade of 89.8. McKinley was drafted with the 26th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and has 20 career sacks to his name. Expected to go much higher than McKinley did, Thibodeaux has a chance to be a top-two pick in this month's draft and could provide an immediate boost to a team's pass rush. During his time at Oregon, Thibodeaux totaled 19 sacks in 30 career games while also totaling 35.5 tackles for loss.

I just want it to be defense. Also, you can't go wrong with Georgia players lately.
I am even fine with Hutchinson at this point. Michigan players tend to blow huge donkey balls in the NFL.

Jabrill Peppers was the last, best player to come from there and he is mediocre as shit.
That Brady guy really sucked.

Sophmore slump for JJ. Hopefully he returns to form and then some this year.

That is pass blocking specifically, he still did quite well in the run game I think. I do hope he does improve that part of his game though.

This is quite odd as Jonah was known for his pass blocking being better than his run blocking coming out of CFB.
