Okay I'm done your last post makes it clear to me the path you plan to take with this. I'll not banter back and forth when obtuse behavior becomes the go to tactic
You asked a question.
I answered.

That's not being obtuse.

McFly is 1 and 1
McFly is too good a compliment, by the end of Back to the Future they were all winners with the exception of Martin McFly, Marty's great great, great uncle (Seamus McFly's brother) who was killed defending his ego.

Loved the 1st Back to the Future. Everything about it. Didn't care for any of the others what so ever.
The back story for Seamus and Martin was from 3. Martin is only a reference and Seamus is played by MJ Fox (surprise).

Might be time for the NFL to wake up.

QB = $50M
RB = $10M
WR = $18m
TE = $16M
OT = $18M
OG = $15M
C = $13M
DT = $18M
DE = $22M
LB = $18M
S = $15M
CB = $20M

If you have a superstar QB like Rodgers it's going to cost you 24% of your cap space per year. If you have that QB and 11 other outstanding players, as I've listed your over the cap at $233M. It's not going to get cheaper so the league and the union may have to cap salaries as well as team totals or reduce the cap inclusion to 45 or 46 players from 51.

In my opinion, Bill got caught up having all of that cap money last year and overspent on some and spent poorly on others. No question he spent well on Henry, Judon and Bourne but got screwed with Agholor. Godchaux and Smith got a bit over paid. Now he's put himself against the cap wall and just might lose a lot more than he can recover.

The problem is not the need to raise the cap. The cap is based on an agreed amount spit of revenues with players. The problem is that most teams mismanage the cap by reaching for players they "need" and driving up prices for the top tiers and leaving scraps for everyone else.

When is the last time you feel BB didn't screw up? I don't feel the Pats are up against any cap wall and Bill is obviously planning on making more space by getting rid of some contracts that aren't working which was started with KVN. I could be wrong but I would suspect Hightowers contract is next-ish.

Moreover, BB is always compared to his best accomplishments. Who the fuck can maintain that? How bout we hold him to a more realistic standard which is this: Not always as good as his best, but almost always better than everyone else.

Sorry that this forum is so offended by anyone who doesn't have a Bill Belichick prayer rug.

I think,. Me. My opinion is that Bill has not and is not at the top of his game any longer. He's 70, not 50. The energy and vitality are not the same and like any other human being, the mind and body have to work together. I'm not saying he's Joe Biden or Helen Keller.

I think his biggest problem is that he no longer had Tom Brady as the magnet that pulls the better than average professional football player to Foxboro for Bill to coach. And that's a huge problem. Anyone notice how easy it was for Tampa Bay to retain every single player for two years and attract outstanding piece to fit small holes in the roster? Anyone notice how many of those guys are now leaving the team?

I also think that New England fans who weren't fans prior to 2000, have no idea how bad things were for this team. It wasn't Belichick who wanted Brady, it was a member of his staff who threatened to quit if Bill didn't take him in the sixth round. No question, BB is a great head coach and is the ultimate defensive mind to ever coach in the NFL. But Landry, Shula, Walsh and Halas all got old and knew when it was time to step away. In my opinion, Bill is approaching that time.

Bill is showing the cracks in his foundation. He trusts no one. He wouldn't name a DC and hasn't allowed Mayo or Steve B. to take over for more than a couple of weeks. Now he's considering calling the offense. He doesn't think he needs an OC. So now, Bill will be OC, DC and HC. Yet everyone thinks he will be a master of the football universe. If he doesn't get himself some real help, this team will be lucky, extremely lucky to be 7-10 in 2022.

Again, that's my opinion and I don't apologize for it. If you don't agree, so be it, that's your right and you have your opinion. I'm just saying to take a step back and remove the Red, White and Blue glasses for just a few minutes.

I'm not offended at all. I just don't understand your disdain for the greatest coach of all time and I totally disagree with you. I don't think I'm wearing red, white, and blue sunglasses but since you say I am I guess it must be true.

BUT

Regarding BB not wanting Brady, I have never heard that before and sure plays into your disdain for BB. Here's a snippet from Jason Licht who was a scout for the Pats when they drafted Brady.

“I do know that Coach Belichick really had his eye on him for a long time. We took him in the sixth. We didn’t need a quarterback at the time. (Belichick) had him (ranked) much higher than that — he and Scott Pioli had him much higher than that on the board. The conversation started with, if I recall correctly, the third round, and he was still sitting there in the sixth and they took him.”

I'm gonna go with Licht on this and assume your disdain mixed with your old age(you're the one that brought old age into the conversation) is clouding your vision and causing you to make shit up.

This is revisionist bullshit. The Pats did not need a QB in 2000, they already had 3 including projected hall of famer Drew Bledsoe. BB would not have taken him if he did not want him. Dick Rehbein may have said those words as hyperbole, but there's no way he meant it.

I'm just repeating what Dick Rehbein stated after going to Detroit and stopping by the University of Michigan. Rehbein was the QB Coach of the Patriots at the time and he sold everyone on Brady. The pick that was number 199 was a compensatory pick and Rehbein stated that he would quit if BB didn't draft Brady. Belichick never denied it.

Licht was the Patriots college scout in the southeast in 2000.

And you are repeating out of context. It's true that Rehbein was high and Brady and he sold BB, but that doesn't mean BB "didn't want Brady". While it's true Rehbein needed to sell BB on the idea that Brady was a good idea despite having a perceived superstar and a promising backup (Bishop). However, BB was in fact sold on him enough to draft him at 199, and not just to satisfy Rehbein.

Here's the funny kicker to this... but you need to put your mind back into April of 2000.

Lets say BB was sold on Brady. How would he explain to his boss why he drafted Brady in the second or third round when they just signed Bledsoe to a record contract? It could be they waited on Brady long enough that he looked like an afterthought once he was drafted...

In 2000 it made no sense to even sign a QB as a UFA, let alone draft one. Brady was drafted because he was wanted by the brain trust (which included Rehbein, but excludes Kraft). Clearly everyone remembers how highly regard Bledsoe was prior to 2000 before his façade began to crack that year and Michael Bishop was highly regarded as a developmental QB, plus Damon Huard was a seasoned backup.
