Do we like him I can't remember

He’s extremely athletic and very toolsy.
Very high ceiling
Struck out like 34 times in 98 AB last year though.. seems a little high to me for a top 5 draft pick.
I know it can be corrected, somewhat. But would prefer someone a little more polished

He is definitely one of the top 3 or 4 in most projections. A few months ago most thought he would be the top pick. He is in high school, as is Termarr Johnson and Druw Jones.

MLB Pipeline has him going third as well.

He is a CF so he wouldn't add to the MIF logjam. Lol

I am leaning that way myself, but he has his senior year left to show improvement. I still like DeLauter a lot.

My prediction: MLB will move an inch, MLBPA will move a mile, and then MLB will walk away saying that MLBPA didn't move enough and are negotiating in bad faith.
or vice versa. MLB will move a mile and MLBPA will give an inch and then both will walk away saying the other is at fault

No expert in this but I think some future revenue the players want to go to pension
That way they get a cut of the prophets and not just hired hands
If they are pushing for the future then it things may not settle soon

I don't know that I have read anything about pensions.

Sure, anything is possible. I was going off of what's actually happened up to this point.
i know but i'm not convinced that either side really wants a settlement. they both appear to be willing to let the season slide

In my opinion, neither side wants to miss any games. Ownership profits have increased far beyond the increase in payroll (massive increase in ticket and concession prices, tax breaks, TV revenue, etc go into ownership pockets). Players, understandably, want to increase their share.

The product on the field should be the priority, and I think the players are wanting to swing things a little further that way. I have no issue with that. If an ownership group doesn't want to (or can't) run a team that's competitive, then they should sell to someone who will.

Keith Law put out a too 20 Ranger prospects. No surprises except Crim is omitted and he has Smith over Foscue. He is high on Acuna too and low on Bubba.
I really hope rule 5 is canceled more for Regans than Bubba but to me if he hits then he might pass Leody. Just like to see good athletes get more skillled

Unfortunately the article was locked
Thank you
At the bottom of the popup there is a "continue without disabling" option and it should let you read it, it let me and I use adblocker all the time. If it doesn't I'll see if I can find the article elsewhere...

Yea. They want me to establish a login.
My conjecture though is yes something of an established revenue stream based upon new revenues for past and present players are what is desired

Theoretically it may seem a shame to old players who established the game and furthered profits not to.benefit from it

The good companies these days provide pension for employees i their old age and in times of trouble. Just an opinion

He has Vanasco and Roby higher than a lot of folks too.

Crim not being there is not much of a surprise. Most who do those lists, have very little respect for Crim, at this point.

There is a top 30 list coming out later today, but the guy who made it, is highly suspect.

I watched a lot of 2021 second overall pick Jack Leiter during his final college season at Vanderbilt. Rather than re-living his (very successful) career through his son, Al Leiter raised Jack on Dorfman’s “The Mental Game of Baseball.” That certainly was a factor in his becoming the highest-paid player in his draft class, but was also a major appeal for Rangers executive vice president and GM Chris Young, himself a highly cerebral major-league pitcher.

Gammons article on Athletic re players penchant for routine

Here is a prospect to keep an eye on this year. Jeff Wilson wrote this about him last week.

No. 32 Efrenyer Narvaez, C

How acquired: International free agent, 2018 (Venezuela)

Born: July 25, 2002

B/T: R/R

Height: 5-11. Weight: 185

2021 key stats: .353 avg./.428 OBP/.500 SLG at ACL Rangers

2022 projected level: Low A Down East

What to know: His teammates in the Arizona Complex League called him “Fish,” a gentle ribbing about a larger-than-normal set of eyes. Most of them probably wish they had his eye at the plate. Narvaez has played only two professional seasons but has controlled the strike zone. He puts himself in good counts and for the first time showed some pop in 2021. Narvaez’s arm is as strong as any catcher’s in the system, and his offense-defense combination elevates him as a prospect.
