After thinking about the NFL's OT...I'm not sure it needs to be changed much. Imo, the only problem with it is that it's kind of a half measure and seems somewhat arbitrary.

This, the game ends if the team that gets the ball first scores a touchdown, but not if they kick a field goal, just seems like it was thrown out there to appease people who didn't like the old "sudden death" rules.

Either go back to the old true "sudden death" where any score ends the game...or, each team gets the ball once and it's sudden death after that.

Someone said yesterday and to me it makes the most sense....just keep the game going as is with no clock. First team to score wins.

I think what people find most unfair is situations like the Bills game where the Chiefs score to tie it and then because they won a flip then get the ball right back.

In the above the Bills would've taken the ball over in a sudden death format.

That's basically what the old OT rules boiled down to, except that there was still a clock and in the regular season, the game could end in a tie.

That part I like. Even if it's being viewed as an extra quarter, we don't have a coin flip and kickoff at the start of every quarter.

Still find it a little funny that when Tom Brady did this to the Chiefs changing the overtime rules weren't discussed nearly as much. They tried fixing them back then, but it was voted down. One of the organizations that turned it down was the very organization you guys think shoulda got another shot, the Bills...

Ah well...

Eh

I seem to remember them being discussed then also.

Just doesn't seem like something so huge should be determined by a coin flip.

I don't know. Seems like every time we have a game go to OT in the playoffs, it gets discussed. Sometimes more than others, but seems like it always get brought up, especially by the fans of the team that lost.

Just saw that on Cowherd. It's already being spun into him going to the Cowboys.

He is still under contract. Basically he wouldn't be able to coach elsewhere for about 2 seasons i believe

He is definitely not coaching next season. Maybe the year after at the earliest

I am not talking about a mask mandate. I am talking about the bold faced lie that Stockton told.

There is nothing embellished. He made it up. Arguments about what? Are you arguing that 100s of athletes have died from the vaccine?

I asked you to name 1.

That is not politics. It is calling out dangerous stupidity.
I have provided a link earlier in this thread detailing athletes that have recently had to retire due to heart conditions or reported on the manner. Deaths have also become nebulous as well in terms of did a person die of Covid or with Covid.

Given where we're at with the information that is out there, neither you or I would be able to really argue whether someone (athlete or not) died of the vaccine/Covid.

Complaining about mask mandates is such a 1st world issue. Wearing a mask is a minor inconvenience.
So if I walk around without a mask, I'm assuming you're fine with it. I've only worn a mask twice in the last year - once for an Uber, another while I was in the doctor's office (not Covid related).

And look at the long term effects, especially for children while they're bodies are still developing and what restricted airflow looks like, long term.

Yeah, Jerry likes "yes men". I don't see him giving Payton the kind of power he would require.
I'd give Sean Payton the keys to the kingdom as a Dolphins fan. If I'm Ross, I get out of his way and let him do his thing.

It's amazing that Jerry Jones is still on this crusade to think he could build a SB team outside of Jimmy Johnson.
